ICESAA-4 concluded with an online lecture by Prof. Daniele Leonori on Novel Synthetic Methods Using Triplet Nitroarenes, where he showcased how triplet excited states can be harnessed to access unconventional and powerful synthetic transformations.
Prof. Irene Casademont Reig presented Aromaticity as a Design Variable at ICESAA-4, illustrating how aromaticity concepts can be deliberately employed to guide molecular design and tune electronic and photophysical properties.
Prof. Bo Durbeej delivered an talk on Simultaneous Optimization of Electrocyclization and Cycloreversion Reactions of Diarylethene Photoswitches, demonstrating how aromaticity considerations in ground and excited states can be strategically used to enhance photoswitch performance
