@aptshadow @cavaticat And I know I said Holsten was useless (as in, he lacks agency), but I actually do like him - I feel like he takes about as active a role as the readers. He can only watch as things change and fall apart around him.

@aptshadow @cavaticat I never considered that! It does make a lot of sense though, because nearly (or maybe every) time it switches to Holsten's POV, Lain is in the scene DOING something. Holsten is mostly a spectator and a "messenger."

@Dexerto It boggles me how people act like it's normal to be a homophobic and racist piece of shit and say slurs on the down low. I've never done that, not out loud, and not in my DMs. It actually doesn't take a lot to be a decent human being, even when you're younger.
