Fear and tension have reportedly gripped the Yashikira community in Kwara State following a shocking midnight attack by heavily armed gunmen on the palace of the Emir of Yashikira.

According to reports, the attackers stormed the palace late at night and abducted several persons, including women and children believed to be members of the royal household.

Sources within the community also alleged that parts of the palace and some vehicles were set ablaze during the invasion, causing panic among residents.

The incident has once again raised serious concerns over insecurity and the growing threat of armed groups operating in parts of the country.

Residents are calling on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts toward restoring peace in the area and securing the safe release of those abducted.
