SITREP: DSS Strikes Again, Captures Sixth Owo Church Attacker
- High-profile ISWAP Commander hid in Edo Village for 4 years
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested the sixth person involved in the 2022 attack on St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo state, in which over 40 worshippers lost their lives and scores more were left injured.
The DSS is currently prosecuting five persons — Idris Omeiza (25), Al Qasim Idris (20), Jamiu Abdulmalik (26), Abdulhaleem Idris (25), and Momoh Otuho Abubakar (47) for allegedly carrying out acts of terrorism.
For nearly four years, the sixth suspect evaded arrest, making him one of the most wanted fugitives in Nigeria.
A security source disclosed that DSS, operatives, who had for years been on the trail of the sixth suspect, identified as Sani Yusuf, arrested him in Iguosa community, along Powerline in Ovia North Local Government Area of Edo State.
According to the source, Yusuf, a high-profile commander of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) had after the Owo church attack, temporarily slipped into Kano before deciding to relocate to the sleepy community in Edo State.
The source further disclosed that Yusuf has since confessed to being involved in the planning and execution of the Owo church massacre.
In addition, continued the source, he confessed to other terrorist attacks by ISWAP, including the July 2022 Suleja military barracks attack, and kidnappings in Kaduna State and environs.
"He admitted his role in the Owo church attack, the Zuma Rock checkpoint assault, which claimed the lives of five soldiers, and several ISWAP kidnap operations," the source disclosed.
"Yusuf also disclosed that he served under other ISWAP top commanders like Abu Ikirimah, who was arrested by the DSS in 2024," another source offered.
"This arrest marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of justice for the victims of the Owo church attack, the soldiers killed at Zuma Rock checkpoint in Suleja, and underscores the relentless campaign by the DSS in the fight against terrorism," he declared.
@Jack_ng01 Yes, Chima can run for the next governorship, I was actually expecting Abia North to produce the governor after Ikpeazụ but Otti is too good to be ignored.
So after Otti, the mandate should fall on Abia North but the zone has been too disorganised since OUK.
Let's be watching

Dormant filling stations are selling or leased out
PORN IS THE MOST DAMAGING DRUG FOR YOUNG MEN.
HERE’S WHY:
1. IT HIJACKS YOUR DOPAMINE SYSTEM
Porn is not “just a bad habit”—it’s a digital drug engineered to hijack your brain’s reward center. Every time you watch it, your dopamine spikes unnaturally high.
The problem? Real life can’t compete. The gym, reading, working on your goals, even real relationships start to feel dull in comparison. Your motivation tanks.
Then, have a very organised queue. People move accordingly, pick their package, and use a different exit.
Since the people are generally disorganised, extreme measures should please be put in place so your good acts don't turn to evil.

My heart melted on reading this. But the issue is not hunger. We have always been hungry and even if PO becomes the president, hungry people will still be in the land.
The main issue is lack of proper planning, how will you distrubuted palliatives without protocol

I am deeply saddened and distressed by the tragic loss of lives in desperate searches for food. A few days ago, about 35 people, mostly children, lost their lives in a stampede at a Christmas Funfair in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This morning, reports emerged of at least 10 people losing their lives in Abuja while scrambling for palliatives, with many others injured.
Now, I just heard that about 19 more lives were lost in another stampede in Okija, Anambra State, as people struggled to receive food items.
While I will not cast blame, but instead appreciate the organizers of these respective events for their kind gestures in providing palliatives and support to society, especially the poor, these tragedies reflect the systemic failures that plague our society.
The desperate quest for survival in these harsh economic times has driven our people to extremes in their search for food, often at the cost of their lives.
How do we explain that in a nation blessed with abundant resources, our people are dying of hunger in such numbers? How is it possible that we cannot feed our citizens despite the vast, fertile lands our nation is endowed with? My heart bleeds.
One can only imagine the pain their families are enduring at this moment. My heart goes out to them. I sincerely commiserate with all the affected families and the good people of Oyo, Anambra, and the FCT over these tragic incidents. May God grant them, and all of us, the strength to bear these painful losses.
May God Almighty grant the departed souls eternal rest, and may the injured recover swiftly. -PO
You already know that people are hungry and generally selfish. Everyone want to grab more than others. Then why not categorise them and issue out tags or number for picking up the palliative.
Once you pick yours, you will be marked (just as in elections)

Dear @EsosaIyawe
Congratulations on your decampment. I would have been surprised if you hadn't moved.
Since you can not work to impress people to vote for you next election, it is better to join the ruling party and hustle for reelection.
Did you speak with DVD? is he aware?
I am writing to formally tender my resignation as a member of Labour Party (LP), effective immediately. This decision was reached after careful consideration of my personal convictions and the alignment of my values with the political landscape today.
My decision to resign from LP is as a result of the party’s inability to declare who should emerge as the legitimate Caretaker Committee from the National to State levels. More so, due the incessant tussle rocking the leadership of the party and the numerous perpetual Court cases against the Leadership of the party; myself and my supporters are in a state of confusion as to the Party’s stability in leadership.
With regards to my right to freedom of association as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (As Amended); I hereby wish to notify you of my defection from the Labour Party (LP) to the All Progressive Congress (APC) whose ideas align with my political aspirations and ideology. This is after due consultations with my family and supporters.
I hereby re-emphasis my resolve to continue my service and representation to my people as this decision will certainly improve my past performance at all levels.
I thank the leadership and fellow members of Labour Party (LP) for the support, collaboration, and opportunities provided to me during my membership. I leave with gratitude and respect for the party’s efforts and contributions to our democracy.
