On March 8, 2024, the PRL-Physical Research Laboratory celebrated International Women's Day with great zeal and excitement.
The highlight of the IWD celebrations was a fantastic dance drama by Ms. Piyusha and Group, which portrayed Ardhanareeshwara, that was followed by a squeal on three notable women in the nation: Mrinalini Sarabhai, (a well-known Indian classical dancer, choreographer, and founder of the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, Ahmedabad); Savitribai Phule, (a social reformer and one of the first female teachers in India); and Bimla Buti, (a well-known plasma physicist, former senior professor and former Dean of the PRL-Physical Research Laboratory);
On this occasion, a lecture on mental health was delivered by Dr. Minakshi N. Parikh, professor and head of the department of psychiatry at B. J. Medical College & Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad.
On this day, PRL's Special Room for Women was also inaugurated.
