@marksandspencer and @waitrose, wanted to shop at either of your stores but had to go to Tesco instead because you close at 8pm. And you wonder why people shop elsewhere.
@richardpbacon The worrying thought is that if he is ‘aligned with Russian interests’ could Ukrainian intel being carried over Starlink being fed to their enemy?
I hope the Ukrainian command are encrypting their messages strongly.
@goddek Generally, postwar people were used to living lean and the ‘good times’ of cheap, highly calorific, processed, as-much-as-you-can-eat food had not yet become normal habit.
People cooked, they ate their veggies and sugar was a treat, not hidden in potato chips and meat etc.
@JudyMansfield @AdamBienkov@BBCNewsnight He gets these gigs because he is outspoken, opinionated and he creates division and discussion - people tune in to watch the fight or to simply to feel enraged. He is walking talking clickbait. This is what BBC news and current affairs has become, the TV version of The Daily Fail
@ProfBrianCox He will soon announce our own project which will be bigger and better, that will make Britain proud without those Johnny foreigners (but of course part funded by Americans companies with the contract to own any spin-off tech invented or discovered as a result of the research).
@MartinW86682049 @archehistory @historyinmemes No, the Docklands one has been open for some time, they closed the 1970’s one on the London Wall and are supposedly moving the main museum to a new site in Smithfield that will be bigger and “easier to find”.
It is scheduled to open in 2026 so that’s 2030 and ~500% over budget.
Today marks 100 days since our colleague at the Wall Street Journal, Evan Gershkovich, was arrested on spying charges whilst working as a reporter in Russia.
The 32 year old's arrest has been called an attack on Journalism and the free press. #IStandWithEvan
@klee1138 @historyinmemes The whole thing was absolutely staged - in the extreme. Every moment of every mission was planned to the last detail. They literally didn’t take a shit without someone scheduling it.
While you and I stayed at home, stayed away from our loved ones and while we were playing by the rules, this lot were having a nice little work gatherings in a room with social distancing posters on the wall and their bosses were holding cheese and wine parties is the back garden
Am I the only one who gets irrationally agrieved at the use of "staycation" to mean a vacation in the UK?
To me a staycation is time off-work at HOME.
A vacation somewhere in the UK is called a 'holiday'.
@clownworld There is a name for these people and it isn’t activists. We could start with vandals and go darker places. Destroying art won’t make the world better it will just rally people against their cause.
