ITALY IS DYING — AND THE NUMBERS ARE BRUTAL
Italy just recorded its lowest number of births since 1861.
Only 355,000 babies were born in 2025, while deaths reached 652,000 — a net loss of nearly 300,000 people in a single year.
The total fertility rate has collapsed to 1.14 children per woman, far below the 2.1 needed to sustain a population.
This isn’t a temporary dip.
It’s a long-term demographic collapse that threatens Italy’s entire future: shrinking workforce, collapsing pensions, aging society, and disappearing regions.
Without massive immigration, Italy’s population would be shrinking even faster.
This is what happens when birth rates stay critically low for decades.
Italy is the clearest warning sign for many other developed nations heading in the same direction.
Me resulta curioso que ante la subida del petróleo, la prensa/partidos conservadores vuelven a resucitar la energía nuclear como gran solución (como si produjéramos uranio y no hubiera residuos ) y se olvidan de las renovables. Las eléctricas, contentas.

A different World by 2030: The great shift in global manufacturing
The structure of global industrial production is undergoing a profound transformation. In 2000, high-income countries, led by the United States, Japan, and Germany, dominated manufacturing output, with the U.S. alone holding around 25%. China’s share was just 6%.
By 2030, the picture changes dramatically. China’s share is projected to surge to ~45%, becoming by far the dominant manufacturing power. In contrast, the U.S. declines to around 11%, while traditional industrial leaders like Japan and Germany fall to single-digit shares. At the same time, other emerging economies, such as India and Türkiye, begin to gain visibility, though still at much smaller scales.
The inner circle reinforces this shift: global manufacturing is moving from a high-income country-dominated system to one increasingly centered around upper-middle-income Asia, particularly China. In 2000, high-income countries (blue) dominated global manufacturing with roughly ~75% share, while upper-middle-income Asia (red, mainly China) accounted for only about ~15%. By 2030, this balance is projected to shift dramatically, with Asia rising to around ~50%, overtaking high-income economies, whose share falls to roughly ~35–40%, marking a clear relocation of industrial power.

The Basque language has puzzled linguists for centuries because it does not fit into any known language family. While most European languages can be traced back to a common Indo-European root, Basque stands completely on its own. Attempts have been made to link it to ancient Iberian, Caucasian, or even long-extinct languages, but none of these theories have been proven. Its structure, vocabulary, and grammar remain distinct, making it one of the most unusual linguistic survivors in the world.
It is spoken in a region straddling northern Spain and southwestern France, particularly around the western Pyrenees. What makes its survival remarkable is the historical pressure it faced. Roman expansion brought Latin into the region, which later evolved into Spanish and French, yet Basque persisted alongside them. Over time, it absorbed some external influences, but its core identity remained intact, suggesting deep local roots that predate many of Europe’s major cultural shifts.
In the modern era, Basque has not only survived but adapted. It was standardized into a unified form known as Euskara Batua in the 20th century to support education and communication across dialects. Today, it is taught in schools, used in media, and recognized officially in parts of Spain. As the only widely accepted language isolate still actively spoken in Europe, it offers a rare linguistic window into a past that has otherwise been largely erased.

Before the war:
1) Iran didn't control the Strait Of Hormuz, now it does
2) Iran oil was sanctioned, now it's not
3) Iran was not building a nuke, now it will
4) US bases in the Gulf were assets, now liabilities
5) Inflation was declining, now increasing
Definitely winning!
Impresionante.
