So I found myself staying up till 4 AM making this, but only because it’s summer and I was in the zone (and I’m kind of a night owl)! 😂 #TeamBCSD#iteachmath#desmosfellow@Desmos
@ddmeyer Contact a teacher already teaching the area of math. Gather resources and examples of lesson plans and assessments, keep that open line of communication and ask questions, observe that teacher in that class 😊
@howie_hua I would round $75 to $80 and multiply by .40 to get $32. Then I would take that added $5 (difference of $80 and $75) and multiply by .40 to get $2. Subtract $2 from $32 to get the answer of $30 😊
@robertkaplinsky This is sadly why I’m no longer a math teacher. Teaching 8th grade math was my passion but this test is what prevented me from continuing. By the way, I took this test 5 times and was always short a few points (208/220, 211/220, etc) 😑
@kathyhen_ I’m so sorry, Kathy! I don’t think a lot of people realize that once we have a student they become our forever babies, so no matter the age or timing this type of news will always affect us as a teacher 💔 Such a beautiful memory, thank you for sharing! Praying for everyone ❤️
@Farrley I always turned things into a friendly competition…the most creative, the quickest, the most informative, etc. They have the option to work in groups/partners but everyone must have proof of having a hand in it. They love it and usually put their best effort forward 😊
So I did a thing…got my second masters, this time in school psychology…yours truly is a School Psych! Helping Ss succeed academically, behaviorally, and mentally…my ultimate dream job! 🧡
@MartinOdimaJr No black teachers, a black principal in junior high. She was sassy, classy, and called all students by their first name. She announced proudly during graduation how proud she was that my best friend and I were the first African American girls ever to be co-Valedictorians! ❤️
