Do you mean there are people whose stomachs are burning with rage because of a refinery plant in Lamu?
That is jealousy.
What is your solution, then?
Complaining without giving solutions is jealousy.
Jealousy is the immediate next step to becoming a witch.
Other Potential Infrastructure projects that can be associated with Dangote Refinery in Lamu
ELECTRICITY
Proposition: Dangote Oil refinery in Lamu is going to produce 1000 Megawatts of which 500 Megwatts will be sold to the Kenyan Government.
Opportunities:
Construction of High Voltage Transmission lines and Substations to evacuate electricity to load Centre.
WATER
Proposition: The Oil refinery will consume around 400 litres of water per barrel of crude per day. So the water requirement is 280,000m3 per day. And therefore after adding for the port and Lamu town, it can easily reach 350,000m3.
Opportunities:
Construction of water pipeline to bring fresh water from Tana River (from a point near Bura) to Lamu.
Installation of desalination water plant in Lamu.
MANDA AIRPORT, ROAD AND BRIDGE
Proposition: Expand Manda airport and construct road and bridge from main land to Manda airport.
Opportunities:
Construction of road and bridge to allow access to expanded airport
@sholard_mancity The Ruto government is doing well in developement and we have not seen a breakdown in rule of law as we have seen under Matiangi. We thank the government for showing us what focus and good faith can do for this Nation!
The issues raised are the realities of Kenya but then the bigger question is why are we here and how can we get out of it? The opposition needs to realize that Kenya is here because continuous neglect and mismanagement by consecutive regimes that had chose political expediency...
...over doing the correct thing for the nation. The current government has taken bold steps to secure the future despite the unending fight back from the opposition and a clueless media. Current invest in strategic projects of nation importance is an evident.

@KenyaFraternity@TheIEK@EngineersBoard@NAssemblyKE This is the highest level of corruption and public deceit. @EngineersBoard shoul come clean on how hon Didmus found himself in the register of graduate engineers. There muat have been a due process to register one a graduate engineer.
How did @TheIEK and @EngineersBoard register Hon. Didmus Baraza? Based on which papers , if indeed he did not graduate the a BSC/BEng in Engineering field from a recognized university? @KenyaFraternity
We have "Bungle La Mwanachi" (which debates serious issues touching on Kenya and Kenyans from Wanjiku's vantage point). Dastan Omari and his orchestra are giving Kenyans "Korti La Mwanachi"(which discusses legal matters from Wanjiku's vantage point).
The countries with with biggest refinery capacities in the world dont have own oil wells. Talk of China and India for example, they are some of the biggest importers of cride oil for their refinaries. What will prevent Kenya from importing crude?
Tanzania is not “competing” with Kenya. Tanzania is simply finishing the job while we keep making announcements.
Uganda’s oil was meant to leave through Kenya. We lost that deal in 2016 because Tanzania’s route was cheaper, safer, and already had a working port.
That oil is now going through EACOP to Tanga. The pipeline is almost done. First oil is coming. About 230,000 to 246,000 barrels a day will leave through Tanzania, not Kenya.
Now Kenya wants a huge, 700,000-barrel-a-day Dangote refinery in Lamu. That sounds impressive. But a refinery needs oil.
Turkana does not have enough. The usable oil there is about 429 to 560 million barrels, with peak production maybe 20,000 to 50,000 barrels a day. That cannot feed a 700,000-barrel plant.
South Sudan still sends most of its oil through Sudan. Kenya’s alternative pipeline is still mostly on paper. Uganda’s oil is already committed to Tanzania, and Uganda is also planning its own smaller refinery.
Tanzania has now answered Lamu with a $20 billion energy hub in Tanga thats to include a refinery.
So, the real question is simple: Where will Lamu get enough oil, every day, for years?
If nobody can show the contracts & plan, this is not a plan. It is a gamble.
Do not blame Tanzania. They did the work. We did the press conference.
The fiscal challenge facing Kenya is therefore two sided. The country must finance development and meet existing obligations while preventing new borrowing from accelerating at the pace seen in earlier periods. President Stopped Digging #RutoBoldDebtMoves
Thank you, @jkuatses and @DiscoverJKUAT ! This is where it all started, and we remain proud of our roots.
We shall continue supporting the next generation of engineers and their professional growth, as we have always done. @TheIEK
JKUAT VIVA!
The judgment by Justice Thande is for the ages. It officially ranks pari passu with Justice Said Chitembwe's judgment freeing Martin Charo for defiling a 13 years old girl because "she was willing to have sex with him having sneaked into his bedroom" as one of the the most STUPID judgment rendered by a Kenyan court since July 1 1895 when Kenya was declared part of the East African British Protectorate. This is what happens when judges handling weight constitutional matters engage in clout chasing!
28th of December 2025 and 7th of January 2026 are IN the same financial year. Sio?
The lawyers & the judge are saying they are IN different years.
Think of an election year (August - August), not a calendar year & the IN in the constitution makes sense.
@sholard_mancity The Second-Tusday of August of the first year after election can't be the same Tuesday the election happens which the actually the second Tuesday of August of the fifth year of the preceding election cycle.
