@Vellfire19907@mmonis Massive gives free daily bars, I use it for running scans overnight.
The other timeframe data can be downloaded with IBKR, again for free. Its saved on your hard drive so it doesnt have to be redownloaded
The charts are drawn with tradingview's lightweight charts
Thank you!
@mmonis I saw that you were looking at reducing your trading apps, you can use claude to make a tc2000 copy. Here is a screenshot of mine.
The intraday data comes from IBKR and the daily chart data comes from massive
@Peoplewish Charting apps that help you track edges such as thematic identification, group moves, volume expansion, price expansion in lists are very important.
Since SA is so important, the app *needs* to facilitate strong SA. This is why Tc2K is strong. Good scanning and good w/l's
I feel a lot more comfortable with the crypto's compared with anything else on my watchlist. All of them are gapping higher today, so they're most in play by far.
I also took TEM this morning, but the lack of group made me uncertain about it
@confucious_rock@mmonis It’s a one minute chart. MXL is a random stock. Most of what Monis trades can be found by looking at good weekly charts on the top 50 stocks by dollar volume with above 3% ADR.
trading lesson: my *base case* for $IOVA was WRONG.
--The stock had run up in recent months into its raised guidance 20%. (see analysis below)
--My trade plan was to offer into R3 to short for a full reversal after initial buying subsided
--The stock sold off from R3 but failed to break the downtrend
--my stop triggered 20c above R3
--i was wrong but followed my plan and took a small loss that had little impact on my results for the day.
this is what a 10:1 trade looks like for intraday traders.
$INTC quick flush on open to 9/21 gap low 114 (S3).
30c of risk for $3+ of uspide. (flat into 17.30)
SNDK is breaking out of the 5m opening range, it honestly looks really good.
QQQ is breakout out of an inside day. Have to try it despite the resistance on the index
Im not perfect but, I wanted to comment on the usage of T2108 to base their breadth decisions.
T2108 could read 0%, if all stocks are only 1% below the 40dma. This is why it doesnt work to the short side as it does to long side.
You need capitulation before it's relevant.
I took the week mostly off as Im writing some professional exams in October and was freaking out.
Either way Im somehow up 100% in 2 months.
I have not found anywhere near as many good setups in the last week as people on x, and reddit claim to find, so I plan to slow down.
Kinda slow day for me, I exited GDXD and longed DELL.
I shorted when bonds & slv broke on the 23rd. QQQ was at resistance, too.
IWM is holding its June capitulation levels while QQQ has MA's stacked, next time ill have to cover and long at IWM major support & QQQ gap down.
I just want to contrast the nasdaq with breakouts that failed. Avoiding failed breakouts is a huge edge IMO.
Even though many glorify having low winrates, there is no point glorifying negative EV.
Definitely time to raise stops IMO, if you didn't yesterday.
Here's what happened:
-QQQ Gap Fill off 700
-Coin SEC News 2 days later breakouts in (FWBI, SBET, MSTR, BITX). I did the former 2, and ASST.
-Oil gap down Monday; Semi's all gapped higher & AMD into ATH. Soxl was best!
@RichardMoglen@Deepvue I’m just saying this to be nice but I have huge problems with its history of making linear moves.
Not saying it’s bad but if you trade 3-5 day swings, it’s always been a hard one
@TheOneLanceB I am absolutely against gambling. Markets can not be free if an individual requires them due to life threatening circumstances, addiction, or other forms of exogenous motivators.
If you cannot control your requirement of something, the market cannot be free.
