The 9th International Congress on Environmental Modelling and Software - Modelling for Sustainable Food-Energy-Water Systems at Colorado State University
Thanks to everyone attending and participating in the iEMSs 2018 conference!!! We hope your expectations were met; we were very pleased with the effort by all to produce a very high quality scientific program outcome. Stay tuned re proceedings and post-conference information.
Our numbers show more than 370 of the 440+ registrants have downloaded or accessed the Conference App, and activity is high. The App should be your go-to source for the most up-to-date schedule of presentations and activities.
Please find the Program PDF on the iEMSs 2018 web site under Program/ Booklet Download. Printed version in your tote when you arrive. Last minute updates/corrections will be made to the Program App which hopefully you have installed on your mobile device, or accessed.
The Conference Program App is now available!! Access through the iEMSs 2018 web site menu Program/Scientific Program, or download from your iPhone or Android app store.
Currently, 34 iEMSs 2018 attendees have indicated they intend to participate in one or more workshops. Individual workshop interest ranges from 3 to 19 participants. Others interested should submit their choices at https://t.co/nkAg6bYRVu
Currently, 435 have registered for iEMSs 2018!! Also we count ten authors having submitted abstracts or papers who have not yet registered, and these presentations have been moved to the Poster Session while their status is resolved.
Some important iEMSs 2018 dates approaching: April 30th (reviewers) - extended abstract and full paper reviews expected to be completed; May 15th - final formatted abstracts, extended abstracts, and full papers uploaded to BePress; also last day for Online Registration.
Earlier this week ~55% PDF presentations had been uploaded to BePress, whether abstract, extended abstract, or full paper. Even if you submitted an abstract earlier and will not write an extended abstract or full paper, a PDF version must be uploaded to appear in the proceedings
We've added a few postings of interest to our @iemssFortCollins Facebook page in the past few weeks, and have a recent one from a conference participant regarding a lodging opportunity. Check it out...
5/ With wrapping up abstract review/acceptance taking a little longer than expected, we have extended Early Registration to April 1st to align with the date for submitting edited abstracts, draft extended abstracts, and draft full papers.
To continue this thread /4... some session organizers have recommended an abstract be moved to the poster session or other oral session, in which case we (local/program committee) will process and send instructions to the authors; currently a relatively small number of abstracts.
More on the abstract review process: session organizer accepts abstract and BePress sends email to submitter with basic next step instructions; when session organizer completes all reviews, we send a group email to all in the session with more detailed instructions.
The current abstract acceptance rate is 99.5%. The process has involved session organizers having two independent quick reviews of each abstract, primarily for relevance to the conference and session.
More than 80% submitting abstracts have been contacted through BePress system messaging as of today (March 9th) regarding acceptance. We expect the remaining 20% to be contacted by March 13th.
If you donβt already have bookmarked, please note the link under Author Information on the conference web site to the BePress site and your account to return to your abstract(s)
Signs of winter flu on the downswing, storms abating, school back in session down under, and iEMSs 2018 excitement building, the abstract due date has been adjusted to February 15, 2018 to help ensure everyone has the opportunity to fully participate at the conference.
February 1st is rapidly approaching for abstract submissions. Please note updated presentation and publication options: (1) oral + full paper, (2) oral + abstract, and poster + abstract. See details in Requirements and Guidelines in Call for Abstracts.
