Data Science is fundamental to success in modern business. No longer do the big devour the small in business, now the fast eat the slow.
My research focuses on Predictive Maintenance @KESS_USW, an important and still up and coming area of the industry.

A great couple of days in Gregynog this week for the Wales Mathematics Colloquium 2022! Thank you to the organisers and all the speakers from all of us in the Maths and Data Science team at the University of South Wales! #Mathematics#DataScience#Gregynog#Newtown#MathsInWales
We want to congratulate all our graduates who crossed the stage today👏
The first day of our April graduations has been incredible!
We hope you're having the best time celebrating this special day with your friends and family🎉

Very excited to have published my first ever paper, Automated Condition Monitoring using Artificial Intelligence. If anyone's interested I've attached a google scholar link that should give you access.
Many thanks to my supervisor @PennyHolborn , @usw_maths and @KESS_USW.
Access to information has never been easier, the challenge now is finding high quality, informative information. If you're looking learn the basics of Python or get in machine learning, these tutorials are absolutely amazing.

For anyone looking to pull back the curtain on Neural Networks or just wanting to understand the algebra behind it, this book is an excellent start and it's free!
I highly recommend it.

@KirkDBorne These cheat sheets are amazing and the more the better! They're a great tool for someone just starting out and avoids constantly re-googling the same material.
@Datascience__ I think Python is one of the easier languages for anyone getting into AI or programming in general! Packages like #pandas and #TensorFlow make for a hard to beat Data crunching and AI experience!
@AIPL_IIOT@MikeQuindazzi One interesting application of #AI and #IoT that my research focuses on is Predictive Maintenance. By collecting large quantities of data from the manufacturing process, it's possible to predict failure. This system works along side engineers and in no way replaces them.
@arpatpm I think working with image data has become far more accessible over the years with the rise of tools like TensorFlow that give analysts a platform to work from! Emails are much harder to work with, improvements to sentiment analysis can hopefully improve this over time.
@odsc It's great to see articles like this that focus on one technique and explaining it to a very high level. I think as Data Scientists we are often too keen to delve into AI and Neural Networks without covering the fundamentals. Good Job 👍
@moringaschool Great to see workshops in my favorite programming language! At my university I teach on a Data Science MSc course and it's such a rewarding experience. I hope they're enjoying Pandas and more!
With my research at the moment taking me in the direction of system integrator, creating tools and software that collect data, I haven't given statistics as much time over the past months. Definitely a great reminder that as Data Scientists we're never too good for statistics.
It continues to amaze me how many "data scientists" fail to recognize that there is a continuum between first principles and extracting insights from giant, messy datasets -- and sometimes a little quick statistical analysis can save you time and embarrassment later. https://t.co/kGBlze9MiQ
@JamaicanRabbit3 As a Data Science student working for a large steel manufacturing company I can tell you that #IoT and all of the above components play a huge part in not only my research, but revolutionizing how we think of the process as a whole. Really interesting post.
@garyvee Hi Gary, listening to your podcasts has really helped me understand the importance of building your brand/identity on social media. Though i'm a Data Science PhD student and not an entrepreneur your advice is always helpful. Great episode today as always keep it up!
