The fact that there has been no action taken against @Mike_from_PA shows that @Twitch doesn't care if anyone close to @hasanthehun calls for violence to a fellow twitch streamer. @TwitchSupport do the right thing, this kind of rhetoric shouldn't be allowed to be platformed.

It cannot be overstated just how much a lot of people on social media viscerally loathe Destiny, and Mike here is using that to try and hurt me in some way + justify his unhinged rhetoric.

It doesn’t matter that it’s not true. He doesn’t give a fuck. Him lying to his followers that I’m starting a podcast with Destiny is a signal to them to attack me, because if Destiny is the ultimate evil and I’m partnering with him on something, that means I’m also the ultimate evil and their attacks are justified.

I can only guess that he’s doing this because he’s genuinely worried about losing his source of income, because he knows he went way, waaaaaay over the line with this one. So he’s flailing and trying to spin his unhinged rhetoric and threats into some righteous cause against the forces of evil.

One of my biggest concerns in the current moment in US politics revolves around the consequences of hyperpolarization and radicalization, and how mainstream rhetoric slowly becomes more and more divorced from reality, which then becomes the new baseline of normal. I find it all very surreal and my brain struggles to come up with explanations for much of what is said by so many people with large platforms.

Mike and many in his audience have become so radicalized that when they think of me, they genuinely regard me as evil on the level of nazis. I really do mean that literally. My replies and emails have gotten INSANE in the last few years, and the insanity predictably ramps up when creators like Mike engage in unacceptable behavior like today. They sincerely believe that I'm paid by Israel, or that I'm conspiring with Destiny to hurt them in some way, or that I'm secretly a far right operative trying to sabotage their revolution. I just want to stress once again that I am being quite literal when I say these things. It's not a bit. They actually believe this.

It is easy to dismiss this kind of rhetoric as edgelord internet stuff but it's just not. They really do believe in their bones that extreme or violent actions may be necessary in the face of pure evil like me. I purchased a gun for the first time in my life this year in part because of how many fully unhinged comments I see constantly. Will somebody actually do the thing? Probably not? I mean shit I certainly hope not. I do have two cats that need a father figure and a fiancée that would be pretty bummed if I no longer existed.

The radicalization that we can all see swallowing friends, family, coworkers, etc., has become a huge problem cannot become the new normal. It is not sustainable. Maybe I need to spend some time thinking about the possible ways that I might be unintentionally contributing to it. I do sometimes vent and lash out in ways that I normally regret a week later. I really will reflect on that for a bit.

But I don't think I'm insane for thinking that it is baffling that anyone would listen to the things that I say, or see the posts that I make, and think that murdering me would be a proportionate response, or that it would make the world less evil. I can be a little spicy at times, but I do genuinely try to be a kind person when I'm not deep in the trenches of stupid Twitter arguments.
