Voyager 1 is about to cross the line no human creation has crossed.
One light-day from Earth. 16 billion miles of cold nothing.
49 years of real travel for what light does in 24 hours.
Incredible. Awesome. Glorious.
Hard to put into words how I felt while I was first going through theses shots brought back by Artemis IIβs
@astro_reid
Since the images were so high fidelity, I was able to push the color to reveal details of the far side Iβve never seen before
Spectacular: A small portion of the Rosette Nebula, a huge star-forming region spanning 100 light-years across and located 5,200 light-years away!

Clouds of Andromeda π
The beautiful Andromeda Galaxy is often photographed by astronomers from Earth. Also known as M31, the nearest large spiral galaxy is an intimate spectacle, with its dark dust strips, bright yellow core, and spiral arms outlined by the blue star light.
Installed in 1901 at a fire station in California, an βeternalβ light bulb has remained lit for over 123 years.
Many people point to it as compelling evidence that modern products are deliberately designed with limited lifespans.

IC 776, A GALAXY WITH COMPLICATED MORPHOLOGY
This stunning galaxy that you can admire here in a shot captured by the Hubble Space Telescope is a dwarf galaxy, but at the same time also a weakly barred spiral galaxy.
IC 776 indeed features an irregular central disk that spirals around the galactic nucleus with arcs of star-forming regions.
Located about 100 million light-years away, IC 776 is in the constellation of Virgo.
Studying dwarf galaxies like the one in this image is important for our understanding of galaxy evolution and our universe.
The cosmos truly never ceases to amaze with its variety and boundless beauty π
