Futures trader in training. Occasionally, I swing leveraged ETFs SPXL, SPXS in my personal account. This is my journal, personal notes not financial adv.
@wrkndad Making $1,000 on even a single ES contract is genuinely hard. Twenty points in one clean move. Never happened to me. It’s slow compounding and survival.
Technically to make a grand a day one needs at least 20k account with real funds.
Great job Dad!
I am going to take your old advice to trade micros, just need to pass this new evals. I met a guy at work who trades only micros for few months and is already on second 2k payout with Apex. My ES trades are too risky i may have 3-5 winning days in the row then one $1000 loosing day and revenge ruins everything. I am right on direction with AM fbd but that 10-15 point drawdown twice basically wipes me out to zero again and again.
@ScroogeMaxBucks@Mcloud4004@AdamMancini4 The newsletter highlights major structural lows and key engagement levels. Today, the first significant level is 6954, marking a failed breakdown. You have to read the newsletter for details. Micro mid-range pullbacks, buying there is like you say 50/50.
@DefazioIvano Top-selling EVs in Canada already come from China.
Many Tesla Model 3/Y sold here are built at Tesla’s Shanghai Gigafactory.
Polestar EVs are also made in China.
So why the sudden panic over “Chinese EVs”?
Let consumers choose.
Canadians are being told we shouldn’t be allowed to buy cheaper, better equipped EVs from China, supposedly in the name of “fair trade” and “national security.”
But let’s be honest.
For decades, Western corporations outsourced manufacturing to China for cheap labor to boost profits. That was called capitalism.
Now that Chinese companies are producing competitive, affordable EVs, suddenly free markets don’t apply?
@wrkndad On Robinhood, you size down and manage downside risk carefully. There’s no place for oversizing once the money’s gone, it’s gone. With funded accounts, you can just open a new account and get new life, psychology of trading changes entirely.
I’ve started looking at trading differently.
Instead of chasing big payouts, I asked myself: if I made just $250 net every two weeks, after taxes, how much would that boost my annual gross income?
Turns out it’s about a 10% increase, which would take me 4–5 years to reach with ~2% merit raises in my current role.
Now, by trading only A+ FBDs from AM plan, I’ve been averaging that amount per trading day—if I can stay disciplined and keep emotions in check. No dreams of full-time day trading, no hero trades - just building consistency, because that’s what compounds. Revenge is killing my funded accounts, leading to oversizing. This time feels different; it’s finally starting to sink in with my new approach to trading.
