FIF is sad to learn of the loss of Clark at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Nearly all island foxes live in the wild, only a few live in captivity as rescued individuals. The Santa Barbara Zoo has long been a champion for island foxes. Clark couldn't have had better care.
We said goodbye with heavy hearts to Clark, our beloved 8-year-old island fox, earlier this week.
Clark began to display atypical behavior about a month ago. Our veterinary care team stepped in to conduct extensive diagnostics to ascertain a diagnosis and provide treatment.
