Not forgetting those who have passed away from the Muslims, especially from our loved ones, seeking sincere forgiveness for them has a great impact on them in their graves and in their hereafter.
From the hardest and difficult things upon a person is when one receives news of the death of a loved one. And no doubt it is heavy upon the hearts, especially when it is a parent, child, spouse, relative, or friend, and more so when the death is all of a sudden.
Yet, Allāh from His mercy and kindness has guided us how to respond in these kind of situations in His Book and upon the tongue of His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. Guidelines if properly followed and implemented, by Allāh, they bring patience, comfort and solace to the heart.
Reflect on the following narration and how the Companions would respond upon hearing news of the death of a loved one.
Beautiful advice from Al-‘Allamah Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan regarding how to navigate issues of ijtihād where the scholars differ.
Such differing should not lead to enmity, boycotting, or division, as done by the blind-following bigots and people of innovation.
It is not from the Sunnah nor from the rites of Hajj (or Umrah) to visit the Cave of Hirā in Makkah — it is not a “sacred site”. The Messenger never visited it after the Revelation began, nor did the Righteous Caliphs or the other Companions, and neither the early pious scholars!
Arabic Poetry: Ignore the Envious Person
The poet said:
Be patient with the plotting of the envier,
for indeed your patience is what kills him.
Fire burns itself up
when it finds nothing else to burn.
A Great Lesson from the Great Companion; Abū Dardāʾ (may Allāh be pleased with him)
Adh-Ḍhahabī mentions ‘Siyar al-Aʿlām an-Nubalāʾ’, and it is a report of Ibn Asākir’s ‘Tārīkh’ with his chain of narration going back to Jubayr ibn Nufayr who said: When (the island of) Cyprus was conquered, the captives were paraded in front of Abū Dardāʾ, so he began weeping. Jubayr ibn Nufayr said: so I said to him, ‘You are weeping on the like of this day when Allāh has given might to Islām and its people?’
So he (may Allāh be pleased with him) said, “O Jubayr! This was a nation (the defeated Christians in Cyprus) which had strength and was victorious, but then they disobeyed Allāh – so they met what you can see. How insignificant the servants are with Allāh when they disobey Him.”
Abū Dardāʾ took a lesson from this and it is a lesson for this nation likewise; that these people who were once victorious and became disobedient to their Lord were defeated and became captive.

Spoke on #Vitamin D today at the Association of Practising Pathologists meeting #Delhi
1. According to current evidence "normal" range of blood 25OHD level is 20 to 40 ng/ml (50 to 100 nmol/l), not 30 to 100 ng/ml
2. Below 10-12 ng/ml is significant D deficiency
3. Above 20 ng/ml is adequate for bone health
4. Testing in otherwise healthy young population is unhelpful
5. Small daily doses are preferable to large annual, monthly or weekly doses
6. Mega doses- eg. Injectables are strongly discouraged.

Allah تعالى describes the life of this world as “enjoyment of delusion (متاع الغرور),” an accurate description of a life spent attaining things that begin depreciating value as soon as you attain them. That is the nature of this life. Anything you attain from it only increases in you a desire for even more.
Is it not logical then, to spend what Allah has given to you in this world from wealth and time and blessings to attain the everlasting pleasure He has prepared for you in His paradise?
Be sincere in all your actions and seek your reward from Allah! What ever you attain from this life will be worthless tomorrow.
Beware of pride that prevents us from doing what is right and accepting the truth. The Messenger ﷺ said, “The one who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart will not enter Paradise.” Then he explained, “Pride is to reject the truth and look down on people.” (Muslim, 91)
