It turned out that it's part of the HDMI Spec to support 480p for compatibility reasons. Same with Xbox series X. It does that if the EDID Handshake goes bad, according to a Discord user from a public server.
I tried to plug in my Switch 2 using my old Monitor with HDMI to DVI adapter and it turns out that there (might) be a hidden 480p mode on this. Pretty sure it wasn't intended from Nintendo and they probably left it there for some reason, but it's funny.
Worth to mention that the menu on the right isn't downscaled to 480p as I said that it wasn't intended to exist. Same with the Switch (2) logo when you boot up the game that you can't see the logo.
@smokypogg I checked how much input lag of the Wii U Gamepad had and it shows that average 16:9 gaming monitors or CRTs have lower input lag. Although I was suspicious on that before as I found it out on vWii by changing the Speaker Volume of the Wiimote. I recorded this on 2024/02/20.
@Freduccini02@Mart8ndoStudios that video you're showing is the PAL version which released in December 8th, 2006 while the NTSC version released at launch day of the Wii. So it's not a surprise.
@JovannMC I'm late and i just found it out now why she left because i'm blind. I used to think she left because she needs a break from the internet without me knowing full details or reading this tweet. I used to be a friend with soafen.
@CosmicScale@LunaValoaa @wing_dings1 Do I have to format my SSD again because i have PS2 Games and Saves on my HDD or can i skip the "format the HDD/SSD" step? Mine is a 500gb SSD.
@MiiMiiTV@PuschArt Schon krass, dass ihr vor seinen Umzug nach Madeira gefรผhlt enge Freunde wart. Und jetzt nicht mehr wahrscheinlich wegen solche รคhnliche Situationen. Uff... ๐
