I stand with this opinion too. the more I learn about the issue, the more I realize that it's never my place to question his sincerity through his label's statement. I'm not a part of the community he disrespected, but they have my utmost empathy since it's a matter of humanity.
Kemarin, aku pikir permintaan maaf mark sudah cukup, tapi setelah baca POV dari beberapa pihak yang beneran terpengaruh sama history dari flag itu, aku jadi bisa lihat kenapa mereka menuntut lebih. Itβs their right so there is nothing we can do but to respect that
I understand why some people are angry, why some canβt forgive him, and why they want to hold him accountable. Those feelings are entirely valid.
What I cannot understand is how this has been blown so far out of proportion. People are spreading misinformation and weaponizing unrelated incidents to portray him as someone he isnβt.
If you want to criticize what happened, focus on what actually happened.
Donβt use one mistake to erase a decade of his kindness, sincerity, and hard work.
And before judging someoneβs entire character, ask yourself whether one mistake is really enough to define a person.
markf gak usah malu dan gengsi nunjukkin kalo masih sayang sama mark. kamu masih support dia bukan berarti kamu gak peduli sama isu kemarin. emg siapa yg awalnya mention uprmlabel kalo bukan dari markf sendiri? intinya kita udh mengedukasi mark and team, dan mereka mau belajar dari kesalahan. tapi yg namanya haters bakal selalu punya celah jadi ya diemin aja daripada capek sendiri. fangirling is supposed to be fun
[STAFF POST]
We encourage MarkFs to send an email to Upper Room to demand further action and accountability directly from Mark Lee. You can find a sample template to use below and send it to [email protected] via email.
While we, Team Mark Lee PH, do not condone any form of discrimination, prejudice, and social stereotyping, we are truly open to hear an honest explanation and we demand an apology directly from Mark himself. We strongly believe that accountability and responsibility always come together. We may have heard from Upper Room via Instagram Story, it is no longer available and can no longer be found in the account. We demand Upper Room to make a proper post that should be readily available in all social media accounts of Upper Room and most especially, Mark Lee's personal account to directly address the people and communities who are hurt and affected by the situation.
This is a social issue that shouldn't be taken lightly as it goes beyond it's historic importance and harsh impact to the society. We hope that bringing up these concerns will make everyone have a deeper understanding on the impact of the these historical issues.
We also want to use the circumstance as an opportunity to be a learning curve for everyone, including MarkFs, Upper Room and Mark Lee. At the same time, we are highly against using the situation start a hate train and bringing up unrelated circumstances. We are all for taking accountability and owning up, but it's never an excuse to go beyond ones limitation.
