So proud that I chose Newcastle as my home. My partner is a 'proper' Geordie from Wallsend & we use different words. He still calls me 'pet', says 'bait' instead of lunch, but he stands right beside me in standing up to racism. https://t.co/fUwX9XRVEW

Delighted to be engaging with @ChartwellsHE@NorthumbriaUni regarding the cost of living to support students & staff with menu offers. More to follow, but for now I’m delighted that from tomorrow, soup and a bread roll will be available at Coach Lane at the reduced price of £2.
@LidlGB not really the best for customer service when you're standing 10 deep in one of two queues in your Ashington store. Staff are bit even announcing for more cashiers

Good to see @asda and @Morrisons supporting families over the summer but as it is a government backed scheme I find it difficult to understand why meals on low cost kids menus do not meet the government's own dietary guidelines.
Let's work to ensure families have a) sufficient household income and b) effective support schemes. We need a co-designed out of school offer that meets the needs of children and families both before and after school during term time but also across the holidays @BBCr4today
On Blue Monday there is, quite rightly, a lot of news coverage about supporting wellbeing by talking over a cup of tea. However we need to think about friends who can't eat or drink in a conventional way @igivetoptips @r2ph @SkyNews. Good, inclusive practice by @GNairambulance
