A national workshop on Human-Elephant Conflict – Varying Scenarios Across India was successfully organized on 12 August 2026 at Visakhapatnam.

The workshop brought together Chief Wildlife Wardens from elephant range States, field officers, NGO representatives, researchers, and senior officials from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

Participants deliberated on the diverse challenges of human-elephant conflict across India and discussed context-specific strategies, inter-state coordination, community participation, and innovative approaches to promote coexistence and strengthen elephant conservation.

With the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in Parliament, the Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji-led Government has taken a decisive step to safeguard the integrity of India's public examination system.

This landmark legislation sends a clear message that any attempt to compromise merit, transparency, or fairness in examinations will invite stringent action. By strengthening the legal framework against paper leaks, impersonation, organised cheating, and other unfair practices, the law protects the aspirations of millions of students who work hard to achieve their goals.

Every deserving student must have an equal opportunity to succeed, and this reform reinforces the Nation's commitment to a transparent, credible, and merit-based examination process.
