Maldivian students are scared of Maths and Physics.

I estimate only around 30% of A level students choose Math/Physics.

This is a serious issue.

Poor math teachers in foundation (grade 1 to 10) could be the reason for it.

Supermajority of school leavers study business or accounting or marketing or some other non technical / non mathematical degrees.

The end result? We’ll have to depend on foreigners for technical services always. Maldives will never build a pool of technical/STEM people this way. We have very few high quality local engineers and computer scientists in this country, compared to non-STEM field. Countries like US, UK, China etc are ahead of everyone is cause they invest so much in STEM subjects. They encourage their kids to go into STEM courses.
