@RadioFreeTom RI over NV every day. You’ve got the ocean, pastoral landscape, proximity to cities/culture, farmers markets. Lived in Vegas for 2 years. Absolutely devoid of culture and breathtakingly ugly. But yeah, blackjack
@peterjhasson that’s not what he said but your response betrays your (and Republicans’) fear that this is in fact what is happening. Every new detail about her sycophantic role in the WH is creepy and the aggressive wagon circling is telling
I’m a doctor. This executive order is wrong. The President does not have the expertise to make these changes.
Vaccines are overwhelmingly safe. Vaccines are effective. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism.
Breaking up vaccines will mean children have to get more shots to get the same protection, not fewer shots. It will increase hesitancy and make children less safe.
Parents should listen to their child’s pediatrician about vaccines rather than listening to an inaccurate executive order. This is so wrong.

@TheCinesthetic most memorable movie experience of my life. I was studying in Hong Kong and my friends come running into my room yammering about a sci-fi movie. “get up! we just saw The Matrix and we’re going again in 15 min!”. They said nothing else. No details, no spoilers.
@JonahDispatch@Apple Thank you! In an attempt to make a minimalist remote, they’ve made it impossible to hold and operate. Each generation is worse than the last. It slips out of your hand like a wet trout or a piece of ice and is so delicate it constantly misfires. I think it’s a social experiment
@LeeKuanYimby conflating pride with love of country is being intellectually dishonest and you know this. Pride in one’s country can ebb and flow. It can be entirely decoupled
from one’s love for its ideals and potential. These are not mutually
exclusive beliefs despite this snazzy graph
@LauraPowellEsq except the USAID cuts, a drop in the bucket compared to other items like our defense budget, were simply used to pave the way for tax cuts for the wealthy. So your argument is predicated on a mythological premise that has no grounding in reality
@laythy29 If you went to any of the hundreds of local coffee shops in Seattle and SF and came away with the impression that American coffee is bad, I don’t know how to help you. These are literally two of the best coffee towns on the planet.
@politico this article is absolute twaddle. Just projected straw man nonsense. Most people think the World Cup is going well despite Trump, not because of him. We welcome the reprieve, cheer for our team and enjoy the global camaraderie.
@Fascinate_Hist according to LA Times and LAPD data, homicides are down 52%, gang violence is dramatically lower and overall violent crimes are near record lows. 2026 is considered one of the safest periods in LA history. Lots of problems still but no thanks on the nostalgia tour
@pensandpoison because anti-intellectualism is the precursor and foundational ethos of every fascist movement in the 20th/21st century. Discredit and “other” the experts and educated is step one
