When you're earning yield, you should also understand what happens when things go wrong.
OnRe has four layers of protection designed to absorb losses before they affect ONyc's value.
It doesn't remove the risks, but it's good to understand how they're being managed.
What I find interesting about RWAs on Solana is how they're being used beyond just earning yield.
Take $ONyc, for example. It's now being used across lending, borrowing and other DeFi strategies.
Bringing assets onchain is one thing. What people can actually do with them is another.
Another $8.5M added to the ONyc/USDC vault. I remember when liquidity was much smaller across these strategies. Good to see more room opening up for people looking to use $ONyc beyond just earning its base yield.
With all the regulatory attention USDC is getting and its growing role in traditional finance, I also like seeing how it's being used in DeFi.
Nearly $65M in the OnRe vault alone says a lot about the demand for lending against reinsurance-backed assets.
It's interesting how ONyc is becoming part of more stablecoin yield strategies on Kamino; you can now earn yield linked to $ONyc without even holding it directly.
One thing I like about ONyc is that it goes beyond just earning the base yield. There are now different ways to put it to work, depending on how much risk you're willing to take.
235 new holders in just one week is quite impressive. Almost 9,200 people now have exposure to ONyc. I'm more interested in seeing how many stick around as the numbers keep growing.
I’m putting together a list of RWA protocols and chains to watch
which would you add to this list?
> Protocols and issuers
~ @Ondo – holds about $3.9B, roughly 12% of the RWA market, second only to Securitize.
It also linked into Wall Street fund infrastructure through DTCC’s Fund/SERV network.
~ @Securitize – the biggest player at around $4.7B.
It’s the tokenization engine behind BlackRock’s BUIDL.
~ @centrifuge – picked as Coinbase’s preferred tokenization infrastructure, with Coinbase taking a stake.
Powering Apollo and Janus Henderson products.
~ @onrefinance – reinsurance premiums moved onchain on Solana.
ONyc recently became the top RWA on Solana by DeFi active TVL, and AUM hit a reported $300M all-time high in September.
@krakenfx xStocks – tokenizing the 100 largest LSE-listed companies, with $40B in total volume processed.
~ @kamino – Solana’s largest money market, and where RWAs get put to work.
@USDai_Official (USDAI) – stablecoin deposits fund loans against AI GPUs, and depositors earn the interest.
It ranks #8 among RWA protocols on DefiLlama, and Bullish backed it with a $100M liquidity facility in August.
~ Binance bStocks – launched mid-2026 and quickly became one of the largest tokenized stock issuers by distributed value, right alongside Ondo and xStocks
> Chains and networks
@solana – RWAs on the network hit a new all-time high of $4.6B on Sept 23, up about 11% in 30 days.
RWA holders jumped to 685,850, nearly double the level a month earlier
~ @RobinhoodCrypto – tokenized stocks got a boost when the SEC granted a five-year exemption for onchain share trading.
Stock tokens across the network hit $2.82B.
~ @avax – added $266M in RWA market cap over 30 days, more than any other chain.
~ BNB Chain – leads the tokenized stocks ranking by chain, with $116M added in RWA market cap over the same 30 days.
~ @XRPLF– Ripple sees RWAs on XRPL growing from about $6B to $30B, with confidential transfers on the way.
OnRe really said the whole week 😀
Singapore is going to be busy. Four events in four days, with plenty of conversations to be had around RWAs and onchain capital.
8% fixed for 30 days is actually a nice addition here; you know what the borrowing will cost from day one instead of watching rates move around.
It makes managing an ONyc position a lot easier.
I have always felt yield alone will not be enough for RWAs. If you cannot move the asset easily when you need to, that becomes a problem. Seeing OnRe work on the liquidity side of ONyc with Titan makes a lot of sense as usage grows.
If you are already active around ONyc, the renewed Exponent incentives are worth checking. 8x points on ONyc limit orders, 3x on srONyc, plus rewards. Might as well make the position work.
A lot of the AI tools people use today are built on top of models someone else spent serious time and money creating.
But here’s the problem:
Building a useful open-source AI model doesn’t automatically mean you have a good way to make money from it.
People can download it, build with it and sometimes create businesses around it.
The original builder still needs funding to keep improving the model.
This is one problem @AlpacaNetworkAI is trying to approach differently.
Through Modelz, builders can tokenize their open-source models and raise support from people interested in what they’re building.
The bigger idea is that if the model eventually gets real usage, that activity can feed into its own token economy.
I think that distinction matters.
A token shouldn’t be valuable simply because “AI” is attached to it.
There should be something underneath that people actually need.
For AI model tokens, the real test will eventually be simple:
Are developers actually using the model?
I like seeing more stablecoin options open up around ONyc. USDC was already useful, now USDG has its own route too. More choice depending on how you want to structure your position.
