if katseye had stayed with the debut and touch image/sound, yall would STILL be calling them a “kpop girl group” at this day, and if they had continued down that same route, yall would’ve eventually questioned, “what even makes them different from other kpop groups?”. so what exactly were they supposed to do to make it clear that they’re not trying, nor were they ever going to be, a kpop girl group?

when gnarly came out, it cemented that katseye was carving out its own identity as a global girl group, away from kpop, away from the image everyone keeps forcing onto them, and away from what you all insist on calling them: a “kpop girl group”.
