@DuRetarderet@HamJob1@emkenobi How many historical examples do you need to understand that letting your government be in charge of the food is a monumentally stupid idea?
Venezuela, Cuba, Soviet Union, Germany. Need I go on?
@DuRetarderet@HamJob1@emkenobi And what happens when your government fails and there's no infrastructure of an open market to take it's place? What happens if your government decides it doesn't want to feed its people?
@ToxicDontMindMe@catisacat1@pubity Now people who bought 300k homes are paying that "mansion" tax. What's worse, NY recently expanded that law to make the tax from 1% to 3%+., all without eliminating that 1 million dollar price tag. What will the markets be in 30 years? 50?
@ToxicDontMindMe@catisacat1@pubity See, I've done the research. NY itself has shown it is not to be trusted. In 1989, the made a "Mansion" tax for homes worth 1 million or more. The problem with that is now 2.69 million from inflation alone, not even counting the housing market of NY.
@saargonside@ishitpostokay@pubity Cool, and what'll happen when inflation hits in the next few decades and suddenly everyone's making a million dollars a year?
You seriously think they'll adjust the tax?
Fuck no they won't.
@lukekthx@pubity Now, surprise surprise, everyone has a ""mansion"" and plenty of people are now paying that tax.
What's your house going to be worth in 15 years? You might just need to deal with that tax now too, all because your property that you've owned forever is now worth more.
@Arktik_Foxx@pubity IDGAF about some medieval lord. The fed was created in 1913 and it introduced a standard that you can add a tax everyone agrees to then tweak it while no one notices and now everyone has that tax.
@catisacat1@PfuckingRPapi@lukekthx@pubity I don't care about your buzzwords. I know what I meant, and it had nothing to do with race. Now go, go and consume the goyslop, take out more debt with your 7 credit cards and use Klarna until you owe so much that you're crushed.
