A short cautionary tale about how I see this current contract issue. Years back I was an admin in a smaller town. There wasn’t much for the youth of the community to do in the evenings. A group of youth and younger people got together.
Teachers need to remember that they voted for a strong contract. Teachers need to remind each other that the government is in no position to do much. They are in dire straits.L and teachers need to stay strong.
Anybody else super frustrated by the lead story this morning on CTV that notes that school divisions releasing their new budgets say they DON’T have enough money to address class size and complexity?
WHY did they sign the MFA?
This is exactly why teachers struck this year!
Let’s talk the Teacher Innovation fund the @SaskParty keeps boasting about. Here are all the approved projects. How many of these grants would benefit all schools? Most of them. A regulation space, PD finding, math manipulatives… we all need these things. 1/7
Thanks, @trudykeil! We did some marking, too.
If you’ve helped send nearly 400,000 emails (and counting) to government through Tell Them Tuesday, you may have received this new form letter response from @jeremycockrill.
We’re going to need a new red pen.
@heymrsbond With music! Song lyrics are a great source. The students love signing along to their favourites and then hashing out what the writer was thinking and why.
I also use Pixar shorts. They’re perfect because they are wordless. Many have great themes!
Thank you Mrs. Hassler for creating a special learning experience for all of our students on the importance of water for National Indigenous Peoples Day.

@RegPublicSchool Wow! Duncan says this is about wages??? That couldn’t be farther from the truth! Class size and complexity are the biggest drivers. Perhaps Duncan needs some comprehension strategy instruction so he actually understands issues facing teachers in classrooms🤬. Fund our schools!
My personal account was hacked. After months of trying, a reply led me to morph this into my personal account. Apparently the powers that be were “unable to verify you as the account owner…and can’t assist further.” Really? Did they even try? Do better Twitter! 🙄🤔🤬
To say I’m #PVSDproud of this student is an understatement! She was persistent, focused, and invested the time and energy required to create a beautiful and thoughtful piece of art. A huge thanks to @RoyalCdnLegion for promoting #remembrance and sponsoring the contest!
We are super lucky to be spending time today with our school #socialworker Jeanine Hackl learning how to manage stress and #anxiety We all have anxiety… name it, tame it, and be kind to yourself and others. #PVSDisKind
This morning we enjoyed a storytelling presentation about the night sky with Wilfred Buck. The presentation was based on his book “Tipiskawi Kosik”. A huge thank you to Sarah Ballard from @treatyeducation Alliance for the invite.
