This tweet about balancing full time streaming/full time work was a fun discussion! I appreciate the praise, but I also wanna be honest about all sides of this lifestyle >.< I'm not complaining-- I signed up for this and have done this for 4 years now, but transparency is key!
- Lack of sleep! This is the big one!! ;-; Tiredness is my biggest challenge! Though I love streaming and it feeds my creative side, it still physically takes up time out of my day like anything else. I make up for it on weekends and by sleeping in on my work from home days lol (I still get all my work done at the Institute, don't worry hehe)
- Energy drink dependence! I used to go through around 5 or 6 cans of energy drinks to survive my 4:30am to 1:00am days, but I've since gone off them and haven't touched one in almost 2 years! I drink coffee and tea and try to exercise to wake myself up now hehe
- Lack of 'me time'! I have about a 2 hour gap between the Institute and streaming, if the stream doesn't require much prep or set up. It's usually used for eating, resting, or working out, so I don't really have time for hobbies or idleness. During my free time on weekends away from the Institute, I work on ongoing streaming projects! I try to squeeze in at least a couple hours of hobby time to paint minis or read though-- it's just hard to find time to really delve deep into my hobby flow state Q.Q
- Uncompromising schedule! This one is a bit more of a personal thing, but I have a very strict time schedule I adhere to in order to be productive and balance everything! It makes last second changes or adjustments very hard to accommodate... I generally dislike having my plans change because I rely on my schedule to structure my day. But! Due to the unpredictable nature of streaming and scheduling things with other streamers, it taught me to be more flexible these days, so though I like having my schedule still, I'm way more flexible than I used to be!
- Institute vacation day constraints! The only free time I get from the Institute are my vacation/sick days! It makes traveling for 3D or anything like that very difficult. My work also follows me around, so there have been instances where I had to answer work calls from Japan to fix problems in the Institute in the US ^^;;;
Those are probably the biggest ones! Sure, there are challenges with this lifestyle, but the reward is being able to enjoy insurance, a resume that is active, and doors opened for my professional future, all while enjoying the creative outlet of streaming and spending time with my precious Aiadmirers! The lifestyle is intense, BUT SO AM I!!! RAHHHH!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥
Waiting room for tomorrow! This time for sure, first time ever Rhythm Heaven in my entire life! Will the OBS gamer maid be able to play a rhythm game on stream..? Tune in tomorrow to find out.. 😀🎼🎶
