@TIKenya, alongside six civil society organisations, met with H.E. @alexstubb, President of Finland, the First Lady, and senior Finnish officials in Nairobi to discuss the state of human rights and governance in Kenya and the region.

We addressed urgent issues: protest-related deaths and abductions, media independence, youth political inclusion, gender-based violence and systemic corruption.

Discussions were also held on how Finland and the international community can support democratic, accountable governance, especially as Kenya prepares for the 2027 General Elections.

Through our partnership with @FinlandinKenya @PirkkaTapiola in the USAWA Mashinani project, we are empowering marginalized communities in Kakamega, Siaya, and Kisumu to engage meaningfully in public finance management and county decision-making.
