The electromagnetic spectrum is one continuous range of electromagnetic waves, from gamma rays to radio waves. What changes across the spectrum is mainly the wavelength, frequency, and energy.

The relationship is simple: as wavelength decreases, frequency and photon energy increase. That is why X rays can probe atomic structures, visible light lets us see, infrared reveals molecular vibrations, and radio waves are used in NMR.

The interesting part is that the same electromagnetic phenomenon can reveal completely different information simply by changing its wavelength.
