Angolan President, João Manuel Gonsalves Lourenço, is expected to officially open the state-of-the-art Cunene General Hospital at the Naipalala location, Ondjiva City, in Cunene Province, Angola.

The construction of the hospital, named after General Simione Mucune, started in 2021 to replace the previous hospital, which was destroyed by fire in 2020.

The hospital is valued at 52 million euros.

It is equipped with paediatrics, obstetrics, ophthalmology, an emergency unit, computerised X-rays, hemodialysis, oxygen facilities, and endoscopy.

Namibia's Health and Social Services Minister, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula, accompanied by some government officials and Namibian doctors, are in attendance.
