It took me 4 hours to cut it on my scroll saw. I pushed really hard on that one but I am really happy about the end product. Look at how the light is playing on that one! 🧠✨
"Right now...a scientist is chasing a question that sounds pointless, and a team somewhere else is a decade into a problem...a century of experience says that funding people to do this work is a good bet." https://t.co/6VLgVwU2gC #Science#success#NeuroArtFriday
"Moderate-to-severe NBD affects [6.8% of 975 cohort] & is independently associated with disability level & bladder dysfunction. These findings highlight the importance of integrated assessment of bowel & bladder symptoms & support routine screening..." https://t.co/GwXCabwxne
When clinicians don't ask about bladder/bowel issues, PwMS may feel their symptoms aren't important enough to discuss. This leads to a reliance on self-management strategies instead of seeking evidence-based care like pelvic floor PT or nursing support. https://t.co/5wa4xNP6eF

Pregnancy planning with MS often involves managing information gaps regarding medication safety and breastfeeding. Shared decision-making and individualized DMT roadmaps can help reduce anxiety and provide a sense of control.

Optogenetics uses light to manipulate genetically targeted neurons, offering a new frontier for MS treatment. Researchers are finding it can induce myelin synthesis and help repair damaged neural pathways in animal models.

Study: Respiratory health is critical in people with MS. Respiratory issues contribute to a mortality rate 2.7x higher than the general population. Early detection of muscle weakness is key, as it often starts before major lung function decline is visible.

"Comorbidity is common in older people with MS & can adversely affect health outcomes, as well as management of MS. Conversely, MS may affect comorbidity management & increase the risk of polypharmacy."

Do gender norms impact the health of men with MS?
Yes: Men who prioritize traditional emotional control reported less preventive self-care. Those using positive reappraisal to cope reported more self-care.

Not all brains age the same🧐🧠
Using whole-brain 3D imaging combined with spatial proteomics, @erturklab revealed multiple trajectories of cerebrovascular aging. A fascinating new study:

Really delighted to get copies of our new book, Elements of Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
A labor of love over the past 10 years, along with @fmristats.

It is estimated that RLS affects up to 26% of people with MS. RLS severity is typically highest when falling asleep, but symptoms during daytime hours are significantly associated with slower cognitive processing & visual memory issues.

"The European Commission has approved Cenrifki (tolebrutinib) for nrSPMS without relapses in the last 2 years, a milestone that arrives despite the drug's failed US submission and a regulatory pathway that has been anything but linear."
#tolebrutinib#MultipleSclerosis#EU#SPMS
Earlier this week, the @EU_Commission approved tolebrutinib (Cenrifki; @sanofi) for the treatment of secondary progressive multiple sclerosis without relapses in the last two years, making it the first therapy specifically designed to target disability progression in this population.
The approval follows a positive opinion by the European Medicines Agency's CHMP issued in April 2026 and is based primarily on results from the phase 3 HERCULES trial in nonrelapsing SPMS, with supporting data from the GEMINI 1 and 2 studies in relapsing MS.
