Alhamdulillah, the First High-Level Committee Meeting under the framework of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has concluded successfully in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
The discussions were held in a positive and constructive atmosphere and yielded encouraging progress, including agreement on a roadmap toward a final deal within 60 days, the establishment of a High-Level Committee to provide political oversight, and the commencement of further technical talks.
I commend the leadership of both the United States as well as Iran for their continued commitment to constructive engagement, and thank all brotherly and friendly countries for their valuable support in advancing this historic process.
In particular, I would like to express my gratitude to our brotherly country Qatar, for its critical support in creating the conditions necessary for these negotiations to move forward.
A word of thanks to the Swiss Government for their facilitation in hosting these talks.
I would like to pay special tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir whose untiring efforts made these talks a success. His dedication, commitment and perseverance are indeed commendable without which there would have been no progress.
I would like to pay my warm compliments and heartfelt gratitude to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, for his diplomatic efforts along with his team at the Foreign Office. I also deeply appreciate the hard work of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi who contributed immensely to the success of these talks.
Pakistan will continue to play its honest and sincere role in advancing dialogue and diplomacy towards a peaceful and lasting resolution.
In intensive talks at highest level in 47 years, Iran engaged with U.S in good faith to end war.
But when just inches away from "Islamabad MoU", we encountered maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade.
Zero lessons earned
Good will begets good will.
Enmity begets enmity.
It’s fine for the US to close Cuba’s and Venezuela’s waters, and it’s fine for Israel to close Gaza’s waters, but if Iran blocks the countries that waged war against it from the Strait Of Hormuz, that’s unacceptable?
Pakistan has done for the world what no other powerful nuclear country could do. Pakistan not only saved 90 million lives but also protected an entire civilization and stopped World War III. Thank you Pakistan 🇵🇰
Everyone who is saying Khawaja Asif’s tweet is irresponsible, you all are MF cowards!
He said what every Muslim wanted to say.
Truth isn’t always polite, and courage rarely looks “diplomatic.”
So proud of him 👏
The Zionist devils are the enemies of peace and humanity. The Israeli attack on Lebanon during the peace process is blatant aggression.
They will destroyed in the madness of creating a Greater Israel.
The American rulers have lost their dignity, prestige and global influence by patronizing the rogue state of Israel.
The whole world is spitting on the Zionists .
The only abode of those rejected by Allah Almighty is hell.
The blood of the innocent people of Gaza , Iran and Lebanon cannot be shed in vain.
🚨 BREAKING: Spain’s Prime Minister is calling on the European Union to suspend its trade and diplomatic agreement with Israel — after Israeli strikes hit Lebanon’s capital today.
Europe is moving.
Look at this misplaced glee. Are you really celebrating the prospect of a ceasefire failing—simply because Pakistan played a role in negotiating it? Surely it’s in India’s interest, and the world’s, for the ceasefire to hold.
If the aim is merely to prove that Pakistan failed, does that justify welcoming further instability? That kind of thinking suggests how easily “hate” can override “logic.”
If the ceasefire is being violated—whether by the US, Israel, or due to Trump and his chronies going Mack on their words—it reflects poorly on them. It underscores failure on their part, not on those who sought to mediate. Pakistan’s effort as a negotiator can still be acknowledged as constructive, regardless of the outcome.
I warmly commend Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their exceptional diplomatic efforts in averting a major global crisis and securing Iran - U.S. ceasefire. I also applaud the leadership of Iran and the United States for choosing peace and statesmanship. May this be a meaningful step toward lasting global stability.
The U.S. must immediately make clear to Israel that the ceasefire agreement is not and cannot be functional without a ceasefire in Lebanon. The American people want this war to end and bombing downtown Beirut is not a path to peace.
