Could not have wished for a better graduation ceremony, with an abundance of love from the incredible University of Winchester Music Centre as I picked up my Music Centre Award alongside my degree certificate. Thank you @_UoW and @WJournalism for three incredible years!
@briallenhopper I’ve been a reading specialist at a Fancy Private School for almost a decade, and have multiple teaching licenses. Working at a coffee shop kicked my ass. Every job requires skill and deserves respect and a living wage.
Tonight on @BBCTwo we perform Poulenc's choral masterpiece Figure humaine, a searing hymn to freedom conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. Followed by Mahler's Ninth Symphony in Rattle's final UK performance as @londonsymphony’s music director.
Watch on @BBCTwo & @BBCiPlayer at 7.30pm.
I was a young carer. I looked after my mum and sometimes my sister as well. I was late a lot.
10 minute detention if you were late, 3 lates and you got an hour the following week.
"You need to be responsible."
No. I had responsibilities coming out my ears. What I needed was help.
I worked with members of the University of Winchester Music centre, and some of the footage was shot in the gorgeous Winchester Cathedral where we'll be celebrating in November!
As part of my degree with @WJournalism I made a short documentary on Music and the Mind, inspired by my own struggles with my mental health. https://t.co/hwH5RGmMNW
Found out this morning that I'm graduating with a 2:1 from the University of Winchester! Aside from my academic progression, university has been one of the most rewarding times in my life. I'm so glad for the incredible friends I've made, and the opportunities I was given 💜✨

"Well well," says Lily Savage (Paul O'Grady) on stage. "It looks like we’ve got help with the washing up" /1
Before Drag Race and social media it was rare for queens to break through into mainstream media, Paul was one of the few leading the way and smashing down barriers. Everyone loved him, but he preferred animals. RIP Paul O’Grady AKA the legendary Lily Savage, you will be missed 💔
We’re deeply saddened to learn that our wonderful, kind friend and beloved Ambassador Paul O’Grady MBE has passed away. He will be so dearly missed by all of us at Battersea. Our love and thoughts go out to all of Paul's family and friends at this difficult time.
