When thinking about a replacement for Saliba while he recovers from his surgery... there are only two very good options in the market that we've been reported interested in:
Ezri Konsa
Maxence Lacroix
Both right footed, physical CBs who can play both as RCB and CCB.
Konsa is more of a plug and play Saliba option. On the ball, he's phenomenal and manipulated press very well with his deception and passes. Calm and composed in-possession. Out-Of-Possession, he reads the game exceptionally well and is a physical specimen in duels. His speed is good but not as great as Saliba's and aerially, he's good but not great (just like Saliba). He is a better blocker than Saliba, so make of that what you will. Basically he's a the best balance of passing under pressure and defensive duelling you'll find for a reasonable price to play Saliba's role while he's unavailable.
Lacroix is more like Gabriel but on the right and centre. Aerially dominant, physically robust. He's faster than both Saliba and Gabriel and rarely makes mistakes in his anticipation and positioning. Where he differes from Konsa and Saliba is in-possession. He's not really an incentive passer, so having both him and Gabriel is surely not ideal against high pressing teams. This is my second choice if we cannot get Konsa. He's also two years younger than Konsa if you care a lot about that.
Not a Spurs thing, but again, more nonsense about Villa winning blah blah, Spurs won a trophy nearly a year ago, not worth much money wise, but Spurs have qualified for CL 7 times in 10 years. Consistent top 4 team. Built a ground, low wages.
Qualifying for CL a couple times and winning a cup, does not get you a consistent revenue generating football club when you dont look after the fundamentals, like not spending 90% on wages and not developing your ground to grow revenues to allow you not to have a 90% wage issue.
This isn't difficult to understand !
Important to ensure discussions are not labelled as crash outs. I dont have the privilege of recording a video so Im just going to explain my fair and honest thoughts thus far.
Fans are not angry at Monga going to City its more so the laid back approach of trying to outsmart a market where money talks.
Losing out on a talent who badly wanted Arsenal over £3/4 million is not being “disciplined”its just dithering and stubbornness. He would have gone on loan, a club would have covered his wages and you could have flipped for profit but Andrea took too long and City should have never even had a chance. Its just the truth.
Not paying ungodly amounts to Tonali’s agents is fair and the same can be said about his wages and £100m fee. I find it hard to believe fans would have been angry at signing Fernandes for £85m if that who YOU really want. The market has shifted and we need adapt. Lowballing Newcastle for a midfielder who improves us massively is just a piss take. Make a serious offer and get it done if HE is the ONE. That is what fans are saying.
Villa have told us £130m for Morgan. If YOU believe that is way too much, make a FAIR offer and lets see how they react. Barcola is not any cheaper so just make your mind up.
Rice, Saliba, Timber and Saka are struggling and we need to ensure they are taken care of while having adequate cover to begin our title defence.
Mikel always calls for fair critique and as a fan its fair to express concerns. I personally dont need transfer dopamine but im just asking to move correct and that is based on information I have. Im sure the club will make moves, lets get a move on.
We are Premier League Champions, move like it.
🇺🇸🇦🇷 Mauricio Pochettino was asked whether he already feels a little American after leading USA to the World Cup last 16... and his answer left no room for doubt. 😅
🗣️ "I'm 200% Argentine. I'm not going to lie: I feel 100% Argentine. I think that when you're here, you feel like part of something bigger, part of the things we're building. I enjoy being part of this incredible project.
And, of course, when that song (Take Me Home, Country Roads) starts playing in the stadium, it's impossible not to sing it. It's impossible, because it's an incredible and very moving song.
After winning a match and after a year and a half of preparing to be here, that's exactly why we signed with this country and this federation: because we wanted to feel that emotion.
One thing is to be involved. I love getting involved and being part of the party. But I'm 200% Argentine. Sorry, I'm not going to lie." ❤️
Cant sugarcoat it, thats really bad from us. Had the player fully sold on the pathway. Made an initial and expected lower bid and expected Leicester to fold and not go to a tribunal because we wanted a fair price. Everyone involved expected it to get done. Enzo knows Monga / City have come in late and strong.
Arsenal also monitoring Saliba’s back condition and he could potentially need a minor procedure of some sort. Nothing decided yet.
Listen, I don’t like to speak on things that aren’t really too much of my knowledge but let me get it straight.
Leandro Trossard
The player is open to staying at #Arsenal but also appears prepared for a new challenge with #Besiktas and #Bournemouth among clubs 100% interested in the Belgian / #AFC expect to sell Trossard and have the following lined up as potential replacements.
Cristos Tzolis
Matteo Bayoha
Mika Godts
#AFC will also sign another winger no matter what / top priority, that is even if Martinelli stays.
Morgan Rogers
Bradley Barcola
Rafael Leao
Kroupi Jr
Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus leaving could also open an option for another player like a Georgino Rutter type player / not a target at this moment but profile wise.
I’ll update you soon on the attacking situation with Rogers leading the race by quite a mile / #Arsenal is very appealed by Rogers and want to sign him / Whether that is for £130m, I think not but let’s see. Barcola is also someone #Arsenal scouts have been severely impressed with when watching France vs Sweden and also other #PSG games last season so remains a target that the club could also get behind for a fee of £100m.
EXCL : #AFC have agreed a long term contract with Bruno G as Arteta connected over Zoom call.
5 year contract agreed with wages worth £200k a week.
Player wants to join #Arsenal + optimism deal could be completed for a fee in excess of £70m - new bid to be sent is £60m + £10m in add ons.
Let’s see how this goes..
With/@AFCSTRIKE
Excl : #Besiktas expected to make proposal to sign Leandro Trossard in coming days / player not agreed to move just yet as full focus on World Cup with Belgium but understand bid is in range of €25m.
No current indication on whether #Arsenal accept but Trossard expected to depart #Arsenal this summer with Tzolis, Bayoha and Mika Godts lined up as potential replacements.
2 chances criadas (1 grande chance)
4/6 nos duelos aéreos (67%)

If Villa cannot settle for a max of £100m for Rogers, we shouldn't sign him under any circumstance. Even accounting for inflation, these selling clubs are smoking crack.
✅Tzolis for Trossard. It seems we've accepted the offer from Turkey, so Tzolis is a like for like replacement.
✅Give Dowman more first team minutes. The player can't go into the next step of we don't give him the necessary minutes like Barca did for Yamal. If Villa are behaving crazy with Rogers, use Dowman more.
✅Keep Martinelli. PSG are calling £140m, and English record, for Barcola. God forbid.
✅Get Guimarães. Bouaddi too will suffice, but Guimarães is a must.
✅Get a RB to replace White if he leaves.
✅Maybe another defender if Saliba needs surgery. Diomandé, Konsa, etc.
✅Sign Monga, Bartishvili, and other amazing youth players to develop the way we did MLS, Dowman, Nwaneri. This could be either in the first team or via loan.
✅Push some youth players to get more first team minutes like Salmon (if Saliba is absent, he'll get more minutes), BBJ, Nduka (if he stays).
