🌟 New Tutorial: Take Full Manual Control with @PX4Autopilot + ROS2 Teleop! 🌟
Take full manual control of your drone or robot using ROS 2 and PX4 with this updated C++ implementation!
In this tutorial, we introduce a Custom PX4 Flight Mode for teleoperation, built using the PX4 ROS 2 Interface Library and managed via the ModeExecutor framework.
We previously released the popular ros2_px4_offboard_example, which was based on Python and PX4’s Offboard control mode. However, as PX4 and ROS 2 evolved, maintaining that code became challenging. That’s why we’ve completely migrated the logic to C++ and encapsulated the teleop behavior in a clean, modular custom mode—making it easier to extend, integrate, and maintain long-term.
💡 What you’ll learn in this video:
How to set up a custom PX4 flight mode for manual control
Sending velocity commands using geometry_msgs/Twist
Integrating keyboard control via ROS 2
Using ModeExecutor to manage custom modes cleanly
Ensuring smooth offboard-like control behavior with full flexibility
