For Nigerians in the uk,
Why does the majority of conversations regarding life as married people sound like many of you are married to people who deeply passionately hate you and wake up everyday wanting you dead?
Why is the hatred among married people in uk so toxic and terrible?
My case is different… 🥺❤️
By God’s grace, I made the best choice in a partner.
He is not perfect…but he is my answered prayer and so much more.
There are so many times I quietly walk into my room, look back at my life… and just praise God for the gift of my husband. 😭
Because what this man has done for me…I can't tell it all,I will never forget.
I remember when I was pursuing my NCLEX dream.
The journey wasn’t easy.
From Akwa Ibom to Abuja, back and forth…every single time I fly he paid my flight fee without hesitation( In fact, he made me have my first flight experience and even international flight experience when he hadn't had one.)this man carried the burden with me without complaining.
He paid for my flights.
He showed up every single time.
Then came the moment that broke me…After he had already spent over 300k on a flight,my visa to South Africa was denied.
I cried my eyes out…
I felt defeated… I felt tired…
But he looked at me and said,
“Where else can you write it?”
I said Philippines.When I checked, flights were between 700k–800k,
long hours, almost 48 hours of travel.
He said, “That’s too stressful for you.”
I checked again…
and found a shorter route but it was 1.3 million naira back then in 2022.
And that didn’t even include flights from Akwa Ibom to Abuja,
hotel, feeding… everything else.
Before I could even process it…
this man went and sold his Bitcoin 😭
and handed me almost 3 million naira.
No hesitation.
No fear.
No guarantee.
Just belief.I looked at him and asked,
“What if I don’t pass after spending all this money?”
And his response… 🥺
“We will try again.”
I broke down.Because in that moment,I didn’t just see a husband…
I saw my biggest supporter.
My destiny helper.
My answered prayer.
Moments like this mean everything to me.
This is the kind of love you don’t explain…you just thank God for it every day.
I will forever be indebted to my husband. Not just for what he has done…but for who he is.
I thank him everyday for believing in me when it mattered the most.
I can't thank him enough for investing in my dreams like they were his.
I can't even talk about the support here in America, taking care of our son, cooking , cleaning when ever I get back from night so I can have a good rest. Omor e too plenty to recount.
If you be law student, there’s enough time to major in divorce law/family law because the amount of divorce cases in this generation would feed you for decades
They are always taking loans to buy their husbands’ cars.
And that’s exactly why you get more marriage proposals as a nurse than them actually getting to know you.
Just so y’all know, this generation of nurses is different, shi shi you will not see.
Dear nurse,
Male or female, please marry a kind and supportive partner. Your job is already very hard. You cannot be receiving gbas gbos at work, only to come back home to an unsupportive partner who keeps making your life miserable. Don't make your life harder than it already is.
Unpopular Opinion:
1. A considerable percentage of female nurses who end up like this didn't marry a fellow nurse.
2. They married people who are overly or too religious, and they are also overly religious as individuals.
Not every guest should be allowed to bring a plus one to your wedding‼️
Only allow if:
1) They're married, engaged, or in a long-term, cohabiting relationship
2) They won't know anyone else at the wedding and would otherwise be completely alone
3) The plus one is someone you have a personal relationship with
4) You have space in the guest count and budget to extend plus ones to everyone
