@hurkman Thanks. Seems to me that multi-project sharing should be easily achievable using the new proxies, making it a superset of the Optimized Media feature. I don't quite get the media robustness argument. Is that something that cannot be replicated with proxies?

@gaunetes I just learned about the Pfizer deal today. I can't imagine they're making a deal like that with every other research team. And once its "open source" it'll be a free-for-all for manufacturers around the world.

@lizrice Tamper-proofing sub-clips would be challenging, unless all parties re-sign them. Perhaps a Shazam-like (Fourier transform analysis of the signal) system for video could automate part of it, if it can be robust enough. (3)

@lizrice If we could only make it easy for all the parties involved (interviewees, talent, cameras op, production co) to digitally sign the master, then it makes tampering/deny ability harder. All derivative clips can just point to the master (2)

@lizrice Hashing every key frame may be overkill. The problem with video is that it gets edited, transcoded and re-encoded all the time for consumption. I agree with @oagoldberg that verifying provenance is the more challenging part. (1)
