Laughter is anti-inflammatory. Crying is regulating. Hugging is immunoprotective. Singing is vagal toning. Dancing is neurogenic.
Joy is a biological necessity.
Going to leave you with this tonight:
The best thing you can do for yourself is actively increase your surface area for luck to hit you. Go outside, travel more, go to new cates, museums, events, take a new route home, go for hikes, see cities, countrysides, take your notebook, speak to people, ask questions, start businesses - go on more side quests. You can literally just do things, and the more you do, the more serendipity and synchronicity will find you.
Calculate time in reverse.
That is, if I have an appointment at 4, I start scheduling my whole day in reverse: I have to be there at 4, so I have to leave my house at 3:15 and be ready by 3:10. Getting ready takes 40 minutes, so I have to start by 2:30 at the latest, so I have to shower at 2. For that, I have to finish my chores at home, which I estimate will take about 2 hours, so I have to start at 12, but first I have to eat lunch, so I'll start cooking it at 11... and so on...
Can somebody educated in politics explain to me how Mamdani is able to do all this stuff but no other politician is ever able to make any noticeable progress?
How does he evade the same bureaucracy the other politicians always blame for not being able to do shit?
I read it somewhere "We romanticized the wrong organ the stomach is more emotional than the heart" and it feels so true. We feel butterflies in our stomach and when we're sad we lose our appetite our stomach gets affected by emotions way more than we realize.
You know what really bugs me these days? We can't own anything anymore. Everything is a subscription. Adobe, Notion, Spotify. You don't just buy things once, you keep paying every month. You literally have to pay for everything forever. Isn't anyone else bothered by this?
Even in Islam, we're taught to make hijrah. If you don't like where you are, move. If your environment drains you, change it. If what influences you isn't good for you, walk away. There's nothing wrong with leaving what harms you.
Today I read a post that said "Allah is not in a hurry, you are. That's why you're tired, anxious, stressed and dissapointed. Trust what was meant to be yours, will be yours. Unrush yourself”
the sunny day anxiety is a real thing. you feel like you’re WASTING YOUR LIFE if you’re not out and about the second the sun’s out!!! so much guilt when sometimes all you want to do is draw the curtains and NAP 🥲
