good morning mutuals and all else!

time for a reintroduction for i’ve been on hiatus too long

i’m krish, i’m 17 and i started programming at 10 to make a wordpress theme in php. then, i shipped an open source css reset with 1.2k github stars.

after that, i maintained various open source projects, held a role in some of the older tech communities, participated, won and mentored various hackathons. i also ended up being a organiser for one of the largest community hackathons in india twice.

in my time on twitter, i hosted some of the largest twitter spaces in tech twitter and ran a cohort of more than 120 people who learned devops with me

i took a two and half a year hiatus from tech and twitter to explore more of myself in high school. i studied psychology, literature, and philosophy; become somewhat of a poet myself.

after highschool, i came to bangalore to attend a couple tech conferences, and yc startup school, after which i fell in love with the city.

right now, i’m studying computer science and statistics in bangalore while juggling through my shenanigans in tech and elsewhere.

over the second half of the year, now that i’m back, i hope to share more of my learnings, shenanigans and thoughts with all of you.

yet again, i will be building in public, and talking about the things i do. every once in a while, but i hope very often, i will host twitter spaces and write out more informational pieces here.

today we’re kicking off our most ambitious idea at @aiweekendsxyz

with some of the best AI companies in the world: @OpenAI, @awscloud, @SarvamAI and @dodopayments.

10 days ago, we opened applications for Back to School.

the first 150 applications came in within 24 hours.

by the time we closed applications, 300+ people had applied.

we could have taken a much bigger group, but we wanted to keep this one intentionally curated. so we shortlisted people, divided the profiles across the team, and got on a call with every single shortlisted applicant.

10–15 minute calls quickly turned into much longer conversations.

we wanted to understand the person behind the form. what they were building, what they were curious about, and what they could do if given the right room.

eventually, we selected 50+ builders.

a huge shoutout to @kartikp36 @dasritav @not_acp @4nushree__ @maybepratikk for spending hours on calls and helping us put this group together.

over the next few days, they’ll be building, experimenting, breaking things and hopefully working on ideas that can completely change the direction of their lives.

i have a feeling we’re going to see some incredible talent, ideas and products come out of this cohort.
