Sunny Toppo, Executive Member of the Janjatiya Suraksha Manch and social activist, says, "As far as the Timothy Initiative is concerned, it is a matter of investigation that the Rs 93 crore which was brought here for conversion is a matter of transaction, so there should be an investigation. If we talk about Jharkhand, 28% of the population here is tribal and those who live in the forests, there is a lot of influence of Christian missionaries, and if we say the influence of Christian missionaries, then somewhere or the other, the Naxalite activity is at its peak there... People there say that Christian missionaries protected the Naxalites. Now, Naxalites are surrendering, and somewhere the Timothy Initiative organisation is converting our people; they are also engaged in the campaign to make them Naxalites. 5,000 churches have been built in Jharkhand. During the Corona lockdown, people didn't have the resources, and churches were being built here. The Christian missionaries are somehow bringing so much money to convert people. They are targeting those people who are not getting government facilities there. People who have converted still don't know the principles of the Bible... All the funds coming to those churches, be it FCR funds or any other funds, should be investigated... If an investigation is conducted, the truth will be revealed here as well. The current government in Jharkhand is somehow not giving importance to institutions like the ED. If we talk about Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, they are neighbouring states, and in both states, Christian missionaries dominate, and the tribal people are suffering from it... Wherever there is a conversion, it will be a fragment of India... They are working in that direction so that in the coming days, anti-national activities can be furthered by inciting the tribals."
