When I watch a mainstream fiction like #Animal - The main question comes to mind is should I watch this film keeping my morality in check? or should I perceive it as cinema... focus on the world it shows and the character it builds?
I take the later route, only then the violent portrayal of a mentally unstable protagonist brings for a cinematic experience.
#RanbirKapoor shows another hinge of his acting range here. Vanga shows another version of his flashy yet broken Alpha Males.
Great time to be reviewing films.

Not sure if many people will notice, but Ranbir has showcased this violent fits of rage where he was so real that his adrenaline made his face shiver & shake in a very subtle way which may literally go unnoticed if you aren’t into his character. Brilliant actor man!

FULL #AnimalReview:
If you are about to whine about any aspect of #Animal like the violence, apathy, bloodshed etc. even after watching the trailer and the film, you are truly living under a rock, and for the same reason, you probably don't wish to watch it in the first place. YOU WERE WARNED!
It will be interesting to read 12,000 think-pieces and opinions on social media regarding the film in the coming days. But guess what, nobody cares at large anymore (beyond bringing some impressions on your Insta or Twitter page). The director made what he wanted to, and the public will choose to see it out of their own curiosity and will. It's 2023, high time we accept that the good, bad, and ugly exist everywhere very much around us. I went in prepared with an open mind. The audience was full on cheering, hooting, giggling and reacting to whatever they were watching on screen. The film's length would be the only aspect that might be hampering the box office collections in the long run.
It's an A-rated film and named 'Animal', and it is so for a reason. Use your own discretion whether to watch it or not.
#RanbirKapoor's ability to mould himself into anything and everything on the screen is unbelievable, but this is very much known by now. His dialogue delivery is the backbone of this world created by Vanga. As Ranvijay, he is destructive, distorted, menacing, but also highly emotional when it comes to protecting his family, especially his father (played fantastically by #AnilKapoor). There couldn't have been a bigger & better 'beast' to fit the bill than an actor like Ranbir Kapoor. He is vulnerable but also villainous, who wouldn't think twice before slashing anybody anywhere. His romantic chemistry with #RashmikaMandanna is smooth and believable. This is 'The Ranbir Kapoor" in his full glory, his acting prowess added with the big scale that justify his screen presence.
#BobbyDeol 2.0 is fierce and headstrong (much like his character's intentions), who will terrify you without saying a single word. I hope there's more to come from him in the future as a negative character especially. As Abrar, he is someone whom you wish to run a mile away from if you see him approaching you. And mind you, he manages to do this in just 4 or 5 scenes where he appears post interval.
This is Vanga's vision - dark, cruel apolitical and unabashed. No film is above a director's conviction, and this is once again proved with #Animal. It's a gripping journey, a 3.5hrs long saga taking its leaves somewhere from our epic Mahabharat too, with quite a few twists and turns to keep you seated. Having said that, the second half could have been easily edited by 15mins or a little more.
The BGM deserves a super special mention, beautifully placed and apt both in entertaining and intensifying the dramatic and action sequences. The songs are a highlight too, mainly in pre-intermission bloodshed by Ranbir inside the hotel and the Ranbir & Bobby Deol's fight in the climax.
Overall, #Animal is one mad-man meeting another, unleashing the dark and twisted behaviours of its characters, visually and verbally.
Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⚡
(1. Nothing was unexpected or disturbing personally, knowing Vanga post his first film. 2. I am done with judging movies for its gender politics, mainly post Kabir Singh. 3. I didn't expect anything less, except for the length)
TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.

Animal has been watched and it's a Ranbir Kapoor film all over. He has delivered his best ever which he himself won't be able to beat even in future. All credit to sandeep reddy vanga.
Background music is just superb, it takes the watching experience to new height. It's almost a flawless film except Rashmika Mandana and 20 mins extra run time in second half after interval.
Don't leave the theatre after the end credits starts rolling out on screen, there is a surprise at the end.
Ratings 4/5. I really wish Rashmika dialogues had come with a subtitle.
