my family went to queens to see the loud fireworks of the world
we couldn’t find any
so we said why don’t we go to the ohel?
and with the fast, countless paper ripping
we found the quiet fireworks of the soul
i just realized i will never (or most likely not) be part of another color war again
and if i am i’ll be too old to know when the breakout announcement is happening
🥲
Arbel Yehoud tried to take her own life in captivity.
She was sexually assaulted. Starved. Broken.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad pushed her to that darkness.
Seeing her country fight for her like she was their daughter or sister made her hold on.
Israel fights for its people.

I'm crying watching interview with Rom Braslavski.
I'll try to write here some parts.
Part 1. "It’s important to me that people know what I went through — that people understand what suffering really is. I came back from a meeting with the devil. The whole world must understand and know, even a tiny bit, what a nightmare means."
Three weeks after being released, Rom still hasn’t got out of the hospital.
"Mentally, I can’t leave the hospital. I need this bubble. Everyone protects me, asks about me, worries about me… I have this bed, I feel comfortable there. I’m terrified to go out into the world - that I’ll lose my mind, that I’ll fall apart.
For two years I didn’t communicate; I forgot how to communicate. I also have physical rehabilitation. It’s hard for me to shower, to stand, to walk. I feel broken. I’m very shut down. Even when I do the little I can, I do it without desire. My mind is shut down, my spirit is shut down, my body is shut down. I think I have a very long road ahead of me."

“They tortured me like that for one reason, because I am a Jew.
I told him, ‘maybe you think it’s just you and me here and no one sees us, but God sees me, how I am tortured by you and sees you torturing me.’ And I told him you won’t get away with this quietly. God will tear you apart. Wait for God’s response and you’ll see what happens to you. He got angry. He says to me ‘you are going to teach me about God? I have judgement ten times greater than you.’ He puts the stones back in my ears, the cover on my eyes.”
Apart from the two days when he was held with Sasha Troufanov, Rom Braslavski was held in captivity completely alone by the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and was tortured in one form or another the entire time.
There was a period of more than three weeks where his eyes were covered and stones were placed in his ears, and another period of more than three months where he was beaten every single day.
On October 7th hundreds of Jewish women (even some Muslim Israelis) were sexually assaulted.
Brutalized.
Most Israelis didn't survive, but some did. Now, they're speaking out.
Ilana Gritzewsky, 30, is one of them.
Her testimony at the UN is going down in history🎗️
"You just pray that it will stop. Every day, every blow, every night, you tell yourself: I've finished another day in hell. Tomorrow morning I'll wake up to more hell, and more hell, and more hell. It's not over."
Rom Braslavski revealed in a recent interview that he was sexually assaulted while in Hamas captivity. He was stripped naked and tied up with ropes.
In the quotes that have been published, Rom talks about how difficult it was. He felt humiliated and like his honor had been completely trampled.
It was cruelty for the sake of cruelty. And now, after finding the strength to talk about what he went through, the same people who claim to advocate for victims will shame him and blame him.
My heart goes out to Rom. I pray he heals.
“my dream is to go back, to go back in time, to the 6th of october”

we said bring them home!
we said wear yellow pins!
then we said they’re home!
then we said remove the pins!
but they still haven’t found home. the war is still raging inside of them. 🎗️💔
Omri Miran counted each day that passed in his head, perfectly keeping track of how many days he was held, how many places he was moved to, and what the date was.
The mental fortitude of Omri under such horrifying circumstances is unimaginable. He is a hero.
