Thrilled to share our recent narrative review of non-pharmacological strategies for preterm infant pain management in the NICU - an important and burgeoning area of research! @OBucsea@drbeccapr

📡Did depression and anxiety increase in 🇨🇦 mothers during COVID-19? Yes, yes it did.
In our paper with @elhether @swmcdona @sherimadigan using @AllOurFamilies data we showed maternal anxiety and depression nearly doubled pre to during COVID. https://t.co/O9U7EEKaki
Proud of @ilanashiff 's brilliant MA defense on preschoolers who aren't calming post-needle. Spoiler! Don't vaccinate kids who are upset pre-needle! Take a minute, calm kids first. Promote positive vaccine experiences-more important now than ever! https://t.co/kr9Y77AqaT
@joe_cressy@joe_cressy what is the plan for unused but defrosted doses at the end of the day at these clinics? Is there opportunity for people to come and see if available?
@zchagla@zchagla thanks for your reply. I foresee transmission being low, but I worry communication is not clear about what it means to receive just one dose (I’m not sure what it means!), and people will act as if they are fully immune.
Upcoming free webinar for parents and health professionals by @drbeccapr on managing young children’s vaccination pain and distress... This has never felt more relevant! 🦠😷💉
‘Tis the season to get vaccinated...Thanks @KidsInPain for my spotlight and highlighting a free lunchtime @StrongMindsCda webinar on how parents and professionals can empower young kids during painful vaccination!! This Thursday at noon! https://t.co/bA6vxJg3lF
THIS! Psychologists, neurobiologists & clinicians transcending silos. Our study shows skin-to-skin holding may protect baby brains in pain & holding a baby clothed won't have the same protection. Thrilled our study funded by @IASPpain@The_MRC out today in @EFIC_org journal EJOP.
Working with @NishilaMehta to share a Toronto based clinic's processes and protocols in response to #COVID19. Hoping this helps other clinics adopt a virtual first model -- join the live document and share your perspective!

Our new paper is out in JCCP comparing machine learning approaches for personalized prediction of treatment outcome in a naturalistic psychiatric setting. Collab w/ the amazing @DepressionLab & @court_beard et al. Abstract below. https://t.co/ApoDjabUdp
Thrilled to have the results of our collaboration available! Easy to read info sheets on acute and chronic pain management that is specially tailored from premature babies to adolescents!! The power to control pain through knowledge: https://t.co/U0BD8dSVnz
Great article that makes two important points: a) We have solid evidence that preventive interventions can reduce the risk of perinatal depression; b) Treating mental health in the perinatal period has an outsize impact on the well-being of (at least) two generations.
Me, writing an email:
I'm using an exclamation point so you know I'm friendly and excited! But now I'm using a period so that you know I'm not crazy. Here's another sentence with a period as a buffer, proving my normalness. Thanks so much!
"When we raise money it’s AI, when we hire it's machine learning, and when we do the work it's logistic regression."
(I'm not sure who came up with this but it's a gem 💎)
Today I am inspired by the vital work of my colleagues @samsjfeldman and Alyssia Wilson, who are bringing female varsity athletes into concussion injury and recovery research.
