I am very excited to share with you our publication building Deep3DSIM microscope using adaptive optic. It allows imaging into an intact fly brain >130 microns with high quality 3DSIM as well as remote focusing without moving the objective or specimen.
my obituary to my PhD supervisor and close friend David Ish-Horowicz, a lovely supportive mentor and friend for many generations of scientists and spent 10 years in my lab after “retiring”. We’ll all miss him.

I am increasingly using blue sky social instead of X for obvious reasons to do with the nature of x’s owner.

Hi all
I am at the neurofly conference in Birmingham (uk) and having a fab time listening to great Drosophila neuroscience talks from scientists all over Europe. Organised wonderfully by Alicia Hidalgo and colleagues. We did our PhDs in adjacent labs in oxford starting 1986.
Sad news. David Ish-Horowicz, our colleague and friend, died on Friday. He was instrumental in discovering the genetic basis of pattern formation and a pioneer of the field of mRNA localisation. A wonderfully supportive and inspirational mentor. We will all miss him.
We developed an excitation module for 3D multi-color MINFLUX that is simple, stable and cost-effective and will allow for ultra-fast MINFLUX with a high accuracy. https://t.co/1x7g0MyUOY
On the day of the AI safety summit in Bletchley Park, here is a recent outreach talk I gave with my colleagues Syma and Madu. Three of many positive applications to biomedical research.
