I said 34% have moved to the right. Trump received 34% of Black men in Texas in 2024 according to the Associated Press. That doesn’t mean all of them will vote for Paxton, but what it does reveal is that some may and some may stay home if there’s a lack of engagement from Talarico. So what does all of this mean? It means Talarico has a lot of work cut out for him, and that doesn’t even factor in his broader problems with Black voters across the state.
