Telegram is obviously a Russian FSB op: it pretends to be secure, but it’s not end-to-end by default and its weird crypto is likely backdoored. People are getting arrested in Russia because of this.

@x0rz During the protests in Bashkortostan in Jan 2024, Telegram simultaneously blocked all popular Bashkir media channels, and several Russian media channels which actively covered the protests. So, not a backdoor, but a separate interface for the FSB to monitor and control Telegram.

We suffered enormously under the Russian Empire through 27 separate rebellions, the Civil War and struggle for independence, genocide, the 1921 Volga-Ural famine, repressions.
