@The_RockTrading Clouds are made of millions of tiny water droplets or ice crystals suspended in air. Instead of letting light pass through, these droplets:
Scatter light in all directions, all colors roughly equally.
When all colors of visible light are scattered together, you see white. (ai)
Again, there is nothing the United States or its interest or allies gain from supporting Orban. It’s even against the Trump admin's own stated goals, as the WSJ points out. This is purely a Kremlin mission and Trump and Vance are carrying it out obediently.
I’m really glad Anne Applebaum is speaking out on this, because JD Vance’s visit to Hungary today is unquestionably election interference.
He openly attacked Europe again trying to defend a man who has driven his country into the ground under an ocean of corruption.

5 minutes before Trump’s announcement:
* $1.5B notional worth of S&P500 (ES) futures are bought in a single clip.
* $192M notional of oil futures (CL) sold.
More than 4x-6x any other trade size during the market close.
Insiders profited from his lies in broad daylight!
Trump may have hoped the elimination of Khamenei would produce an Iranian Delcy Rodríguez but it has instead spawned a budding Iranian Kim Jong Un, writes @ksadjadpour

There are many dictatorships in the world. Some seal themselves off within their own borders, trying to block any outside influence of freedom. And others do not recognize borders at all and actively try to destroy the freedom of their neighbors, entire regions, and sometimes even the whole world. When we deal with Russia, we face the second type of threat. It is a mentally unstable dictatorship that cannot accept that in Europe every life matters, human rights are important, and nations can be protected whether they are big or small. Putin cannot accept one simple thing – that somewhere people can live differently and enjoy a life that is not the one he prefers. That is why he has been consistently trying to break someone – not just now, not just for 4 years, but throughout his entire time in power. He is war itself. And anyone who supports Putin cannot fail to understand that they are choosing war.
From my address to the European Parliament.
All science has evaporated at HHS and its agencies. When that occurred we lost all our biosecurity and now face an onslaught of new respiratory viruses, zoonotic flu, next coronavirus, with no vaccines. But there’s more: Tropical viruses accelerating from Brazil Caribbean like yellow fever, and bio weapons threats from our enemies: Putin’s Russia, DPRK, China, Iran. As a nation, we’ve never been so vulnerable
Don't believe what xenophobes tell you: financially America is net ahead on immigrants. They're entitled to dislike people from certain countries if they want to (and are willing to admit that's what drives them), but the economic argument is bullshit.
@nytimes I'll just leave these (iron lungs) here. Along with a lesson in benevolence & generosity from Jonas Salk, developer of the 1st polio vaccine (which I had in the mid-1950's).
