It may be summer break for students but some MBP staff attended the AVID Conference this week to learn, goal set, and plan for next school year! We're excited about sharing new ideas at Pollard! #MBPmustangs#saddleup#OneChatham
We had a few district leaders in the building today and saw some great things happening across all grade levels. Collaboration, differentiation and high student engagement! #MBPmustangs#OneChatham
8th grade Social Studies worked in groups to study Westward Expansion and create projects that represented different aspects of the topic. #MBPmustangs#ccsarts
Using the @HolocaustMuseum online resources to create ID cards for victims of the Holocaust. Definitely a powerful for both the 8th grade students and their teachers! “Behind Every Voice, A Story” @ilengelb@MBPollard
This week our 8th Graders at @MBPollard created “X-Ray Profiles” for people involved in the American Civil War and I was SO impressed with the final products! I’m so thankful to have an amazing PLC partner like @ilengelb to do innovative projects with.
Really proud of our 8th grade Social Studies students at @MBPollard! This week they presented their “Unsung Heroes of the Civil Rights Movement” projects, and they absolutely blew us away.
Something that makes me proud is when my students overcome the difficulties of virtual learning! Breakout rooms in zoom class can be tough, but I love to see students working together to think critically like they did for this activity #chathamdigitallearning@MBPollard
I love Pear Deck because it allows me to hear from students who I might not otherwise hear from in such large classes. It was especially great during one of my favorite lessons this year - discussing "The Hill We Climb" by Amanda Gorman! #chathamdigitallearning@MBPollard
BIG Shoutout to my co-worker @ilengelb who works tirelessly to create phenomenal digital lessons for the 6th grade Virtual Academy at @MBPollard! Today, she taught Hammurabi's Code using @PearDeck. We love and appreciate you Ms. Engelbrekt! #chathamdigitallearning
BIG shoutout to the one and only @LizPasqTeaches for always inspiring me with her lessons (in both ELA & SS)! Today it was using Jeopardy to review concepts with students. Here is the template she used - and graciously shared with me!! @MBPollard#chathamdigitallearning
This snowball microphone really improves sound over zoom - a great tool to have as a VA teacher. And it's important my kids can hear me during class, especially when we cover cool topics like the Code of Hammurabi! @MBPollard@ChathamCoSch#chathamdigitallearning
Today, my 6th grade ELA students used the chat feature in zoom to share text evidence of characterization they found in our novel, The Watsons Go to Birmingham! It was great to hear from so many students! @MBPollard@ChathamCoSch#chathamdigitallearning
