You probably know, but others might not, that this whole project actually started with a a Twitter campaign (#52in52RCTchallenge) years ago in which we circulated one classic article weekly for discussion. The idea was that trainees and early career neonatologists will see new studies through platforms like @EBNEO, but it is more difficult to know where to start to absorb the earlier canon that helped to guide current practice.
In this volume, most of those classic articles are included, along with some that are of interest in learning clinical epidemiology. There are a brief Q&As with many of the original trialists as well.
The real strength of this is in the chapter authors, though. It was, quite simply put, an honor for the editors to work with that group of experts, and we've learned an ENORMOUS amount from them/you. I know that readers will too!
